Pubs for Everton

Do any of the above do food ? I don't fancy the two right by Lime Street, need somewhere with good beer and good grub. (yes I know that is a long shot)

We'll be arriving in Lime Street about 3pm so was hoping there would be somewhere decent near there as it's the main station, right?

As you come out of Lime Street in front to the left is a Weatherspoons which I thought was shite but even worse was the one I found nearby, sadly I cant think of the name but it had the feel, look and décor of a 1970's pretend/rehash pub. The beer was shit as well so I was hoping someone knew somewhere else near the station.

I'd say Wetherspoons is over-rated anyway to be honest but you know what you're getting with it. I guess we'll just be trying whatever pubs we come across and get closer to the ground near kick-off

Ship & Mitre is a good ale pub and not far from Lime St. Food is supposed to be decent but I've never bothered. Loads of beers.
Go here regularly pre matches v scousers.
It's just beyond Mersey tunnel entrance, Google it etc for directions.

There is a Chinese right outside the ground were you can get a decent pint and food at good prices, we went in for the league match quite a few blues in and no trouble then straight across the road into ground.

Always found it to be fine in the Weatherspoons opposite Lime St. It's a Weatherspoons so you're not getting fine dining or anything but for an away day piss up it's more than adequate. Atmosphere is usually decent too, mainly City with a sprinkling of Scousers up for a bit of banter.

Yeah the ship and Mitre is nice, went there last year.

Also a heads up for those on the train, the one we are hoping to catch at 10:30 is the penultimate one last being an hour later. Well there was one to Vic but it's been changed to a bus service and takes over 2 hrs to get back

Ship and mitre is a good shout and new spoons on lime street where the head of steam was.some good bars on dale street as well. I would avoid Walton and county road in general as not a friendly area even for a blue bindipper like me
