It was open last year for the cup tie and rammed with blues. The coppers then bussed us in from there. I'm on the 12.36pm train Saturday so will have plenty of time to find a watering hole.

yes and they rejected me the bastards. wasnt in my top 2 choices but still. at sheffield now and they keep sending me letters saying ''it isnt too late to apply!''

Hahah, you applied for Stoke.

Anyway, I think it may be open as their 'Welcome Week' kicks off on the same day as we welcome the majority of our Freshers, the 22nd. The only reason why it may be shut is if it's undergoing major redevelopment like our SU is.

I am not being cocky it's just we keep drawing there in the league and I fancy us to win in style on Saturday. I was told Stoke is a tough place to travel but when I went last season in the FA cup I thought they was lucky to only get beat 1.0

Mate, I got this email from London Supporters Club about it being shown in Rileys at Victoria

The game on Saturday v Stoke may be shown, they will have confirmation for by tomorrow afternoon. It isn't being televised on the major channels but they have a system called via play so they might be able to show it. They will let me know tomorrow and I will forward the information.

I will update when I get confirmation.

Pubs in Salford to watch games

My son is living in Halls at Salford University as of this week. He goes to all home and most away games but the likes of European aways and London games he won't get to.

So my question is, does anyone know of any pubs in Salford where he can watch the game safely starting with the Plzen game? Also, is there a Salford supporters club?

You need one with a mature crowd and strong management to watch City without hassle in Salford.

The Union on Liverpool St shows City when United's not on as does the New Oxford behind Betfred on Chapel Street.

You might be struggling for the CL games as we play at the same time as the shite. Salford Arms has multiple TV system best bet there.

Should be open, freshers week isn't until the week after next. I'm more interested in what time they will be open, Anybody have any idea? We plan on getting the train around 8am to get there for 9ish. Will be taking plenty of beers for the journey so will just blend in with the locals and drink on the street until it opens if needs be.

Ember Lounge is Staffordshire University Students' Union primary food and drink venue in stoke. Located at the centre of the College Road Campus directly below the Students' Union, Ember Lounge is open weekdays from 9am until late, and weekends from 12 noon until late.

Cheers mate, couldn't find SU bar opening times anywhere. Had the tiny pub with the garden in reserve, they certainly wasn't expecting us last season when they had 2 staff on and were dishing out glass pints. Looks like it's going to be a nice early one for me.
