Pulis

Don't like how his team play and he talks rubbish too...the team didn't turn up today but must say begavich is awesome goal keeper that is all.
Their 'keeper was taking the piss with his timewasting. Every goal kick, he would take the kick out from the other side of the goal to where the ball went out. And yet there was only 1 minute added at theme of the first half. And that after the ref had spoken to him.

This was unbelievable, it was taking over 30seconds to take each goal kick. Timewasting from the 2nd minute and the officials are either unaware and incompetent or oblivious to the antics.

Reminded me of Tim Howard last season,

Statistics from the game from Vital Football and (Guardian):

Man City Stoke City
3 Goals 0
17 (20) Goal Attempts 4 (5)
9 (6) On Target 3 (1)
67 (62) Posession % 33 (38)
7 Corners 2
0 Offside 1
6 Fouls 9 (10)
2 Yellow Cards 2

As we know the important statistic is the top one, but the next 3 give an indication of how hard the other team tried and this shows...
Well, Stoke didn't try very hard did they? For a team that was defending 67% of the time they gave away remarkably few fouls.

I don't know the difference in data collection but there is a difference in what constitutes a goal attempt or a shot on target. The scoreboard in the ground got the first attempt by Stoke half way through the second half which was a shot blocked inside the area and was counted as an on target shot. Apart from some hairy defending at corners and Joe's tip onto the post I can't remember them troubling us.

Pulis is just a bitter, small minded hypocrite.

He complains about ''the disease'' that is diving but thinks sending his players out to ''rough up'' the opposition (and potentially cause serious injury) is fine. Prick.

MotD: "What was the difference between the teams today?"
TP: "About £220m"

Mrs Bow remarked after hearing him say this, "how disrespectful to his own players."

Stokes have spent quite alot since coming up to the premiership

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/stoke-city-transfers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premier ... sfers.html</a>

More than a lot of teams,it seems his problem is with city as i doubt he says the same after a United game.

If they sacked that little **** the people of stoke would see what they've been missing, they would also bring more than 500 fans to a New Year's Day fixture at the home of the champions 40 miles away.

Maybe, just maybe, the ref had spotted the time wasting but once we had scored he thought well they have wasted their own time now havent they.

Was to our advantage in a way. Begovic didnt exactly rush second half did he

I've no problem with the way they play, whatever it takes to stay up but what a bitter twat pulis is.

They beat us on offsides and fouls though.

He says the same thing about money all the time, I think he is even starting to convince himself.
Rather than getting annoyed with him I just see a manager who is pulling the wool over his own fans eyes, this is the only way we can play in this league.
I just wonder when they will finally work him out

It's interesting that a team can be so hard to beat at home yet so abject away.

I can't remember a team giving the ball away so much and showing so little fight.

Makes me laugh when he goes on about money. They have the third highest nett spend (£75m) over the last 5 years, behind us & Chelsea. That's over £70m more than Spurs and £120m more than Arsenal.

They really should be doing a lot better than they are; they haven't progressed at all. Last season they finished on 45 points, which is the same as their first season back in the PL. In between they've had 46 & 47 points. Pulis simply can't take them any further. If you talk to Stoke fans they recognise this but are happy to stick with what they've got rather than take the risk of doing worse under a different manager.

True.

Also, the vast amounts of money he has spent, has been on average players at best. Pulis is happy with the way his team perform season upon season and, like you said, it's as far as he can take them. The problem I see, is that with this same group of players, I cannot see another manager bettering him, simply because of the players at disposal.

Their defence is solid but not spectacular and, in the main, is helped by two defensive CM's who, in their own right, are average themselves. Their wingers are average and their strikers are quite shit.

They're just all well suited to the physical style of football that Pulis has embedded into them. If a new manager came in and tried in install a different 'footballing philosophy', if you like, then you'd see them plummet, IMO. Any new manager brought in would have to spend a fair bit of money to take them to the next level and that's why, unless they suddenly collapse, I can't see it happening.

Bitterest man in the prem....

Yep Tony we spent money...and your point is...

Keep wearing the club shop . 99 still hurts doesn't it.

Stoke really are one of my least favourite teams. Only decent at home and that's because of the bully boy tactics. I counted 1 shot today!

Add to it with the narrow pitch and the long grass and you see why they tend to do well at home.
they dont have a narrow pitch anymore, every premier league pitch is the same size

I find Pulis and the Joke City fans hatred of us most amusing.
We are everything they are not.
We are a skilful passing side that just ooze class and are a pleasure to watch, whereas they are a bunch of long ball halfwits who are about as easy on the eye as ethnic cleansing.
Our manager is suave, witty and charming, even in a second language - Pulis is a thick dullard who probably thinks erudite is a type of glue.
Their fans are six-fingered,web-footed incestuous throwbacks who have trouble walking upright and have yet to discover the joys of opposable thumbs.
Stoke is quite possibly the ugliest city in the UK,and would actually be improved immeasurably by a nuclear strike.
