Puncheon trip on Zaba goes unpunished...

Heads everyone's against us. Tails the FA, referees, MUEN, BBC, Talkshite and FIFA hate us. It's shit being one of the underprivileged.

I think we are not underprivileged, SB. It's just that there appears, rightly or wrongly, no balance or fairness in how people and clubs are treated. Mind, Haringey Hotspurs are getting a verbal lashing off the DT this morning, but, again, they seem to misunderstand that this is not the same Monaco or similar that oft turned up in MANUre's group to act as nowt else but group fodder.

Like Danny Drinkwater?

They'll always slip one in, TLWYS, just to show that they are not wholly biased. Would he be facing a charge wearing a Dipper shirt? Same incident. The whole FA disciplinary system is so perverse and lacking in any visible application of even-handedness that makes it the unpalatable joke that it is. They've let violent play go, clearly captured on video, if it concerns certain players or certain clubs. Why?

The commentators I had were saying "under the new rules that is a red card" and that Puncheon was lucky to still be on the pitch. What new rules were they referring to?

When I saw it I just saw a lazy trip, tactical foul to prevent an attack - stonewall yellow card & free kick. No idea how that is interpreted as a red, was no more than not wanting to track the runner so making sure he doesn't keep running.

If one of our players did that I'd find it amusing, and expect a yellow, be bemused if that was given as a red against us.

Whilst I'm of the opinion that it's just a yellow for that type of offence this does set a precedent, ultimately the FA are saying it's perfectly fine to cynically trip someone off the ball if the officials don't see it.

Arm wrestling in the box is now a penalty but kicking a player running at speed when the ball is 20 meters away is neither a foul,a card or worthy of a review sanction......unbelievable Jeff !!

City must have a huge portfolio of contradictory examples with which to embarrass those incompetent nincompoops at the FA.

Pay back day will come peeps.

At least they reviewed it, which I didn't expect. But they're not saying it's fine but that it wouldn't have been a red card. It doesn't fall under the heading of Violent Conduct. If Zab had pushed the ball past him and Puncheon had done the same, he would have got a yellow unless he was deemed to have prevented a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Personally I think it's daft that you can get a yellow card for that and the same for taking your shirt off. I'd introduce an "orange card" for professional fouls like that with the next cautionable offence leading to a sending off and a 2 match ban,and maybe require 3 yellow cards for a sending off.
