Pundits who are actually decent

For a bit of positivity here’s some pundits who I think actually do a good job:

Mark Chapman - even though he’s a rag he’s fair and objective. Quite serious, very old school BBC.

Ian Wright - doesn’t hide his allegiances but he’s always been fair to City and he knows what the club means given his son’s deep connections.

Gary Lineker - this one will polarise some people but I’ve always liked him

Mark Chapman and Gary Linekar aren’t pundits, they’re presenters.

Pundits are the ones who the presenters ask questions to in the studio.

Martin Tyler isn’t a pundit either, he’s a commentator.

The people who sit by the commentators and offer their insight from time-to-time during the game also aren’t pundits, they’re co-commentators.
 
Listening to Rafa Benitez in the studio doing punditry here at the end of the Lpool-Ncas game, makes you wonder why all pundits aren’t current managers or successful ex-managers.

They provide so much more insight than the ex-player pundits. Managers shit all over the player pundits.

Absolutely right. Even listening to the Spuds manager yesterday, talking about City and their performance this season, was so, so much better than any of the pundits and their ignorant, and pithy comments.
Obviously, Hoddle is an exception to that your rule……
 
The sky sports model of having those two utterly dislikable pricks , neville and carragher , is painful and MOTD shits all over it for short, concise analysis.

Who is having carragher as a pundit aimed at? How did he get his job back after spitting at a child? Did sky put ‘bantz’ over despicable behaviour?
Rodney marsh made a joke about tsunami/toon army and was never seen again. But gozzer spat at a 14 year old and thats ok.

Two player, should give their head a wobble.
 
Henry is very good. I can't believe he's signed up to be on a non-funny comedy show with spitty and Micah. He knows the game, understands it and when he talks it's generally insightful. But that gets lots amongst the spit, tears and laughter from his co-pundits.
