Punk and New Wave thread.

I was more into the rock scene but I have been to a few punk gigs, I saw GBH at the Mayflower on Hyde Road if anybody remembers that place also Killing Joke at Rotters with Dead or Alive as support with the late Pete Burns RIP.
Booked for Killing Joke at the Academy in November this year, cannot wait!
Went to several Mayflower gigs. I'll let you do the honours and put Killing Joke up. Good band.

Was in there when two thirds of Rush rocked up, got them to sign the album cover.
Used to spend virtually every afternoon in there in the summer of 77.

Ha, we used to do the same. We must have been in there at the same time. The staff were great, took our song requests all day, gave us little buzzcocks badges etc.
Had most of these:

I had several lapel badges. Many punks had them on bikers jackets, but I bought a khaki German WW2 flying jacket from Army n' Navy store that I put badges on. I painted UK Subs The Damned and SLF on the back. Me and my mate were mooching round town and we got some helium balloons and I tied 2 to each shoulder having wrote punk bands on the balloons. We went in the Arndale and got hassled by a couple of coppers, telling us how stupid we looked. I told one his tit hat looked worse. Then we got chased by a gang of black lads. We were fast runners in those days. Police Oppression n' the like...
