Punk and New Wave thread.

Summer 78, the Stranglers had released three albums by then!

I remember everyone waiting for them to put something out and we couldn't understand why. Had seen them twice before they released anything and listening to Hong Kong garden for the first time was a bit of a shock after the energy of carcass and helter skelter live. It didn't take ling to grow on me though. ; )

Two friends of mine, Steve and Brad promote up and coming bands through 'IndigoBravo'(see Facebook) and host free gigs at the Rising Sun top Mossley. Usually every 2nd Saturday in the month. Excellent small venue serving craft ales and homemade pizzas. Last train back to Manchester is a reasonably late 23:50.

I thought that but read he was bass guitarist.

Edit: Manchester born wihich I didn’t know. I assumed he was was from Leeds.
Like Dave Gedge from the Wedding Present.... A Leeds band but he was born and raised Middleton - presume went to Leeds Uni and formed the band there

Same with Lloyd Cole. People think he is Scottish as the Commotions were formed in Glasgow but he is from Buxton!
