QAnon

Huh?

Are you in active support of this video? Are you a believer in these ridiculous QAnon conspiracy theories?

Do you in fact believe that it's OK for citizens to own machine guns/assault rifles - weapons of war? If so, why stop there? Why isn't OK for citizens to own sarin or other lethal nerve agents? What about tanks? If citizens feel threatened - then wouldn't tanks be a great deterrent? And land mines and grenades? Why are those outlawed?
?

Or just lock me all up and throw away the key
Perhaps I've misunderstood your cryptic one-line response - which to me suggests support for the video - primarily because of the word "me" in your response. Should you disagree with the video - you might have instead said - "Or just lock them up and throw away the key."

Cheers mate.

I must querry though - as a resident (I assume) of Idaho - aren't you very, very much in vast minority in any liberal views you might express in your home state? Next to - say Texas - or Alaska - I think that Idaho is pure red Republican nationalist - an always-Trumper state.

I live in one of the two more liberal counties in the State, Boise is fairly evenly split. The rest of the State is, as you say....full blown Crackjacks

I see.

Hopefully the residential angst isn't overwhelming for you.

Fortunately I live in the west coast of Washington state - overwhelmingly so, the populace is very well educated, and is very, very much anti-Trump.

But were I to take a drive, say 50 or so miles east - I'd still be in Washington state - but in the rural part of the country. In this part of the state - I'd be hard pressed to find anyone in support of Joe Bidden.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm trying to say from the above - other than that facts do not change at all based on locality - and yet, perceptions of what is fact - or what is not - absolutely does change based on locality.

This needs to change. If we're to enjoy a rational hate-free society, whose decisions on how to proceed are based on actual facts - then a sea-change in exchange of information must occur.

I don’t bother about other people’s views on Religion or politics, got too much other stuff going on to give a fuck either way

Why do you feel this way? Look I don't understand your personal situation so perhaps your view is 100% the way I'd feel under similar circumstances.

But for me - an American - we have so much at stake in how the majority populace feels.

First up - whether or not Democracy as we know it can survive. Trump nearly ended Democracy in America - were he to win reelection - we might well have devolved into fascism.

Next - climate change. This is a huge, perhaps existential issue for all living humans and moreover for our descendants. And yet this issue is politicized.

Then there's the response to COVID-19 - why is it a political issue at all? Why can't we simply do as experts advise - however personally inconvenient such advice may be?

I 100% give a fuck about other's views in America - because those views will determine winners in our elections - and will furthermore shape how we respond to the numerous crises we now face - are we to proceed with rational, science-based policies - or, instead are we to proceed with America first - convenience first - and science be damned?
