I am sure the internet like all other mass communications advances (The first books, the Printing press, Radio, TV) is being misused for disinformation - It has brought us all closer together but only to find we all hate each other, and that we're all being stoked up by a few dark actors using the new medium to sow the seeds of division. Couple of decades and hopefully the govns will have some control over it all but right now if you search anything on the internet whatever crackpot idea it will be "true"

Been following it for a few years on message boards...current state of play on the US election is that Dominion voting machines flipped votes to Biden via servers based at a black site in Germany at which there was a firefight between US military and the CIA leaving 5 dead.

The servers were seized by the ‘white hats’ which will prove China backed the election steal with Democrat/Deep State assets allowing martial law to be declared with public executions. Also there are are thousands of Chinese troops massing on the Canadian side of the US/Canada border.

The alternative theory is that Biden got more votes than Trump, but this obviously is far too outlandish a theory to carry any weight.

It is gaining traction over here and you would be amazed the effect it has on some people. Most of them in my experience were not stable to start with and so have latched onto it as it gives them a sense of righteousness and belonging. It is very dangerous. One of the ways I have seen it are odd people acting out their beliefs by damaging and defacing covid measures in supermarkets and shops and intimidating retail staff in the deeply held belief that it is all a lie and somehow designed to infringe their precious individual rights. This had led to some fairly serious violent episodes and harassment for people. It is tangible and it is spreading.

The one I've met acts like a scouser in the way that he's right and "Speaking truth", everyone else is a nonce pacifier who believes everything the media tells them.

It is for internet saddos but those people live and move amongst us. They are increasingly acting out on it and Ive seen it first hand. It has ramifications

They are the US version of ISIS for fanaticism from what I've seen and studied about them. You cant give any critical comment without them personally attacking you or threatening you.

Indeed.
I heard a few of the stories earlier on in the year and thought it was just satire.
Turns out it wasn't and it's a sophistricated online cult. I mean those Tom Hanks stories ffs.
This year has sent many people to the edge in a variety of manners some somewhat nefarious.
I used to like conspiracy theories in Hollywood movies (as a means of popcorn entertainment) but in reality there's a few issues going in with people who latch onto this quite seriously.
