pep at Barca and Bayern seemingly always played his best side in anything remotely important and they did very well, here we never see our best eleven, it's always a mash-up with at least one or two of our top six on the bench. we looked like a early rd. league cup side.

Mahrez is a disaster, our club's record signing, but he's pep's signing, need i say more?
i mean WTF Gaurdiola? not only was the starting line-up wrong, naive, whatever. but your game management reeked of instant dismissal at any other vocation. your subs made no sense, a double sub at 88 minutes? what did you really think that would accomplish? brutal

Tuck your fanny in mate and man up!

some right spoilt twats on here!!

so you think pep did a good job?

Can’t remember the match but a few noted it the other week...bad habit among some of the players of not playing to the whistle and petitioning the ref in the midst of play. There’s an insecurity and a fragility to it that’s unfortunate and, in this case, costly. Reminds me of certain types of controlling perfectionists who become frustrated and off kilter in the face of the occasional injustices, pressures, and ambiguities of reality.

I do think pep and the players psych themselves out quite a bit for champs league (and even cup games in general) - whether via selection, quality of play, or the rash challenges and elbows that suddenly start flying. They very often simply don’t look like themselves.

And I don’t think it’s helped by those odd selections, which further undermine the confidence of the team, take them out of the comfort of their most overwhelming rhythm where they can settle down and feel themselves, and thus the whole chain compounds the pressure they’re already feeling. From group stage on this has been a horribly shaky CL campaign.

A big result in the second leg may kill the hex though!
Wow!

Is it just me, or tonight were Barca in their victory over Manure, a mirror image of us last night ? This is no Barca wonder team. With a bit more belief, we could beat these in a final - next week permitting. Tonight ought to be a massive motivation for us to put Spurs out.
I feel how Barca played was how we were supposed to be playing... if our lads hadn't forget how to pass the ball.

I’ll admit it blues, I have begun to panic. My days have been anxiety filled thinking of the next match, and more importantly a fucking lifetime of listening to scousers .

definitely not alone there, that was the least typical Pep performance to date. The players have much better skills than they showed, which means they were distracted by fck-knows-what? Bit like the Wigan nightmares.
Really is too awful to contemplate, the mickey media in full adulation mode is bad enough when they've won FUCKALL, unbearable at times.
Anyway, shaken not stirred, we march on, if we end up with just the onetuple :) then so be it

What shite and boring? Barca were very poor last night and generally passed it around against a very average side without ever really going for the 2nd goal. We're better than that and better than Barca if we play with pace and on the front foot again. If Barca play like that against Liverpool they'll get beat convincingly over 2 legs.

Spurs are in quite a precarious position Re top 4 but it didn't stop them putting out their best team. Do you think Pochetinno will rest players against Huddersfield?
More to the point will Klopp rest players in a CL semi against Barca in order to win the league?
