QF 1st Leg Post Match Thread

He didn't want to use De Bruyne or Sane tonight because I'm almost 100% certain they're both starting in the more important game vs Palace. I was surprised they came on at all in the end.

If winning tonight was absolutely everything, Bernardo would have been risked, De Bruyne and Mendy would have started and Sane would have come on at half time. However, winning tonight was not the be all and end all.

KDB I get but Sane has hardly played at all lately. He could easily have managed 20-30 mins tonight and still started on sunday.

Said it last season, in the CL our manager is a coward and inept.

We'll NEVER win this competition with him in charge.
You could help by not criticising him by using ad hominem attacks . It's abusive. I get that you might be frustrated but so are we all .c
This is a blessing in disguise my friend . We will bounce back on Sunday and next week because we are a great team

Why leave Sane out? It's not like he has played a whole lot recently. Kev I can still understand even though I would have started him. The selections were baffling tonight.

Can only assume he wants him completely fresh for Palace and i'd hazard a guess he intends to start him in the 2nd leg as well, then if he has 2 great games then he might be needed at Spurs (H).

Tonight was the least prioritised game, from the off it looked like we just wanted to be still in the tie come the 2nd leg and in the process expend as little energy as possible, the next few games have the potential/will justify tonights game.

Why were the subs so late on? Yeah we should have put them to the sword when Kane went off. We can still beat these second leg we just made it a little bit harder.

We have a couple of players who always look likely to be sent off, give cheap fouls away in dangerous positions, dangle the leg out across the striker going left to right and right to left and who will lunge into the striker who gets past. They'll then wave an arm in the air and apologise.

And did he make an impact? Not having a go at you mate but sane should have started tonight, mahrez was shit and pep changing players with minutes to go was a fucking joke

100% agree with you ffs. Read my earlier post, Sané should ALWAYS start ahead of Mahrez.
The post said Sané hadn’t started recently, when I just pointed out he did 6 days ago. Unless injured, he and Sterling should ALWAYS start ahead of Mahrez.

This is my (our) take on it too. We took it slow against cardiff and brighton too, but we're in the cup final, we beat cardiff, and we can get past 1-0 at home against spurs with a slightly more rested team raring too go (if this is deliberate though, he better not do this against palace or we'll lose).
That is bullshit as now we have to win 2 0, 2-1 they go through, the utter tripe being spouted tonight pisses me off, we were shit pep picked the wrong team, and not 1 player in a city shirt tonight did them,or us proud, yet everyone thinks we are Man city 1 0 down no sweat, wake the fuck up, we have been sleep walking through games for a long time now and maybe that mentality had rubbed off

Is it just me that would prefer Kane to be playing? Tottenham are a far better outfit without him. He's an out and out donkey. Don't care how many goals he has scored, He's so over rated.

He’s not a team player either as was proven in the WC. Who’ll shoot on sight he’s too greedy
The World Cup was primarily about the golden boot for the golden boy. Being reported that his injury was caused by a challenge from Delph ! Despite how prolific he is I agree both Spurs and England look better with more pace upfront which will obviously be the case next week with Moura and Son. We've got more than enough to overturn this though
