He's just a fucking idiot. I doubt even he would have picked such a poor team tonight though with what was available... Yes,it really was that bad. Luckily Spurs are shite so we still have a chance.

Pep will keep on throwing the UCL with unexplainable starting 11s and subs but people will keep defending him on this particular matter. Like Pep never does wrong despite constantly pulling this crap in the UCL playoffs.

Sané and KDB on at the 88' is close to being a joke.

Just my opinion.
Let's see what pans out in the 2nd leg....Spurs aren't great and we'll smash the fuckers at home in the 2nd leg, all game management fer me and Pep knows what he's doing. Saying that I've no idea why Sane didn't start tonight and if he doesn't start against Palace at weekend then he'll be off in the summer. Never known any club have a pfa young player of the year the previous season get so under used the season after....what's he hoping that he'll sign a new contract not playing games? Fuckin crazy 2 mins football the last 3 games.

Very disappointing result in a very important tie, but 1-0 isn't exactly bad. We've overturned more than that in the past. But the worrying thing for me is the way we've been playing lately and thought that would change tonight and we'd really shift into high gear, but no. Carry on like that with the game against Palace away at the weekend and we could let the league slip pretty soon. Then another league game against Spurs and away at the rags, well ..... I'm low on confidence right now. Really hope Pep gives them a good kick up the ass soon.

I said the same in the last league thread against Cardiff and got called every name under the sun and insulted by a few on here, but I think my point showed itself again tonight. We've just not been "on it" lately and way off our best. Really hoping we finish off strong because shutting off this close to the finish line would be criminal.
Chin up mate, we will finish the season strongly, we always do. As you suggested we have several more gears to go and Pep knows how to manage it.

Why are so many Blues 'ifs and buts' all so negative, "if they score..." they'd be saying the same had it finished 0-0 or 0-1 is the funny thing about that, so how much does it change?

We need to remember Spurs had 6 days with nothing but this game to focus on, City had 2 days. It's also a game they hailed as the most important in their managers career, important for the new stadium and so on. City just wanted to keep it tight and get an away goal by the looks of it(could have done just that with a bit more luck). This was a game they were desperate to win, they could only win 1-0 and they were fortunate to get that in truth.

Were Spurs that good? Did they create that much of their own to shout about? We may have struggled to get our game going in that first half but which team couldn't get out of their own half in that second half as the other team started threading passes together? Did we allow them to look as devastating on the counter as Liverpool did in those 20 mins at Anfield in the CL last season? It's not the same at all, they aren't that good and we aren't the same team as last season(I believe our game management is better). We lost but it wasn't down to players losing their heads because of the pressure or the magnitude of the game.

Maybe rather than prioritise the League over the CL, Pep realised his time was spread thin for match preparation this week. Maybe he left plenty of time to get the gameplan for Palace right, so we can hopefully beat them and then go into the second leg at home with the tie still within our grasp. Maybe wait until we've got this tough 2 weeks out of the way to judge?

Spurs will not have the same advantage for the second leg, they may be without their best striker. Even though they've played better without him, it will still be a blow to their spirits. They also have to play away from home against the best team in the league by a mile and try and cling on to a slim advantage. We score an early goal and it changes everything.

If we dump them out of the CL at home and they then have to play us again at the weekend, especially if they've taken a hammering, we may have the psychological advantage over them and they might be there for the taking again.
