Genuine question. Why is this essentially a miltary parade? There are millions of people who serve their country in other different ways who are not represented here. It only seems to be military personnel.

There's no youth workers, doctors, teachers, transgender activists, grime artists, road sweepers, gardeners etc.

I'm trying to picture a platoon of transgender activists and somehow I cant, fortunately.

In theory yes but I believe Parliament has some mechanisms to wrestle them back off him.

Why I like the system is there is a bit of a check on power from both the Crown and Parliament to one another and one of the reasons we’re the only major Western European country to not have a dictator in the modern era.

Yes, something like that. This is how 'over the top' pageantry looks in the truly democratic country, the one that has been still sticking to it, and that is the reason why we are annoyed by that, but also very proud of that in an equal way!

Who do you want then ? the NHS and other organizations are represented, she was the head of all our Armed forces it's called tradition Why should we change it?

This is a state funeral of the comander in chief , it is all about her forces on parade , there are lots of ordinary people invited to the abbey
