Querétaro vs. Atlas | Multiple casualties after fans riot | 17+ Dead

This is truly shocking.

I was thinking of going to the World Cup in Mexico and LA but I won’t be setting foot in that country now.

What’s with the stripping them naked all about?
Animals.
Seems to be a humilation thing. I was at a Boca game years ago and a tourist ended up in the wrong section of the ground. The home fans attempted to strip him and beat him but luckly some ultras stepped in and stopped it

Seems a toxic machismo thing, very dominant cultural theme in Latin America unfortunately.

Weird Guardian reading hipster football fans will be bumming off this story. The feral fans belong in the dark ages.

Still nothing official regarding fatalities and would be very surprised if there weren't any. Wish I hadn't watched it now, almost medieval in the brutality shown to each other.

27-30 reported dead according to what ive been sent ... wish i hadntwatched it now, absolutely horrific

The official numbers from the Mexican authorities are nonsense (saying there are only 2 or 3 dead). They're shitting it that they might lose a World Cup, on top of their police force being a sorry state (granted their job is almost impossible given the state of Mexican gang violence).

There are at least 20 dead Atlas fans, the worst violence I have ever seen at a football game.

- Fans stabbed with ice picks.
- Eyes gouged out.
- Heads kicked in against curbs.
- 10 fans battering 1 fan.
- Victims continuously kicked despite being unconscious on the floor.

Like others have echoed I wish I had never seen it.

It's fucking medieval, absolutely no value for life.

I won't watch it, man's inhumanity to man is bloody endlessly depressing. Hardly surprising it is Mexico where people are tortured, killed, beheaded and hung from motorway bridges in wars over drugs.

Some of the most brutal beatings I saw on TV was England fans in Sweden after they knocked us out of some competition, that game Brolin scored, I think Graham Taylor was the manager. Swedish fans battered by mobs and constantly kicked and stamped on when they were clearly unconscious. Some real liberty tackers running up and doing penalty kicks to unconsciousness people and moving them three feet in the process. How anybody didn't die that night is beyond me.
