This awful story has taken a strange turn; the journalist has now admitted he saw no dead bodies and made up the figure 17.

However, given the evidence on camera it's hard to believe nobody died, is he being coerced to say this? I mean, it's possible all of those people were taken to hospital and survived but it looked unlikely from the evidence. Anyway, weird twist.

Exactly. People cannot survive the level of violence being dished out on some of those fans. As another poster said, it was savagery - beyond violence.

There was a guy in the passage by the pitch got his head stomped and it looked like he was agonal breathing after it. I don’t think he survived

so people did die , fifa need to find out wtf went on and act on it,they need to find out the reason for the lies and again act accordingly
