It's because it ends the debate.

I'm right, go read this thing that no one has in front of them if you disagree.

She knows no one has the report memorised and no one in her audience will look it up and realise she's wrong.

It's one of the reasons lying is so effective in politics, it takes 10 minutes to disprove a lie and you can put out 10 lies in a minute of speaking.

Yet somehow tonight its Martine Croxall in the dock for breaking impartiality rules - the Beeb is now an arm of the Govt

We should never ever have a leader of the country who has not been democratically elected. This goes for all parties. We’ve had three leaders with their own manifesto. And not delivered. This is why it must go back to the electorate. In my opinion..

To be fair, the Labour rep has been calm and put his points across really well. She tried to stop him on occasion but he stood firm.

I like people who stand firm to their beliefs, the Asda bloke is also standing up for his customers.
