I am as well. We are a growing side. Its not gonna happen over night.

We are not gonna win the league this season but 4 aways wins on top of lasts seasons form will put us in a UEFA place and that is my prediction for this season...anything more is a fantastic bonus and heres hoping.

We have a hugely improved squad and teams around us have reduced squads. ie rags, Arsenal, Villa, Liverpool.

Why the richest club in the world with less than a week to go before the start of the season have ;
a. Only bought one defender
b. Have no idea bar the left back, who will play defence on saturday
c. They won`t have played together
d. Ben-haim is still at city
e. Dunne looks like missing out, but he`s still captain?

a. But season starts saturday, Aren`t we supposed to buy them early so they can get settled down and get to know each other.
b. Not if we do sign a new defender with days to go. Dunne`s lost it.

OK here is one answer. We played them last year and drew.

The defence was Hart in goal, Ned Dunne Ball and Zab. So take out Hart and Ball and replace with Given and Bridge. An improvement you must agree? Thats even if Toure is injured.

Then consider we only had Caciedo up front with SWP and Rob off him. This time round we have Tevez, Adebayor, SWP, Rob, Bellamy and Petrov all vying for the same spots.

I'd day we look a lot stronger.

a. How long have we been tracking toure, lescott, terry for? It's not like hughes woke up yesterday and said to himself 'shiit, I knew I forgot about something'. Fact is, we're not going for second bests and if we had paniced and hurried, we'd start with Lucas Neill and Dunne being our cb pairing. I think we will go for Upson if we can't get Lescott within the next 10 days, but only as a last resort...and I don't think he'd be a bad signing at all!

b. Even if we sign Lescott today, I don't think he'd start Saturday. Give him at least a few days training before that..

c. People seem to forget here that our team trains as well, where all the chemistry and understanding of each other can be practised just as well (or better) than in competitive matches.

d. TBH has played, I believe, to let him raise his value and make him more appealing to clubs. Fact is, Notts County might be happy to take him, but he needs to be happy to go as well.

e. Dunne will play and captain the side if he is good enough. If not, he won't. Giving the armband to a new signing would not be a good idea.

Why is it even at the time of the greatest excitement in years, when we have some genuine world class players at City and when we are about to embark on the first season in years when we could genuinely beat anyone on our day (and theirs) that some people still need to find something to whine and whinge and moan about?

I can imagine if you were lying in bed with two miss worlds, drinking Dom Perignon 71, watching City being 4-0 against United with your 100m winning lottery ticket in your hand that you would be moaning to the two miss worlds about how the pillow was a bit firm for your liking, the Dom Perignon was not your prefered 72 and the curtains didn't match the bed spread!

Hughes knows exactly who he will play on the back on Saturday, Hughes knows whether Lescott is coming or not etc etc etc

I think we need to wait until the end of the window, if we haven't signed another defender or two then criticism will be justified IMO. I've been critical of some of our signings and proposed signings but I think overall the summer will be seen as succesful one.

I also don't see that our good fortune with the new owners means that we should stop having opinions about the goings on at the club. People need to accept that everyone sees things differently, and much of the stuff getting written off as moaning is nothing more than someone having a different opinion and viewpoint.
