Queues

Something of a myth developing here that the searches are resulting in increased queue times. The searches are 5 or 6 yards in front of the turnstiles and as long as there is a continuous (even 2 or 3 people will do) flow of punters between that search point and the turnstile itself, that search will have little or no impact on how long the queue is. The turnstile software/mechanism would not work any faster if there were no searches! The biggest problem is simply not enough available turnstiles

Never normally a queue at B1 an hour before kick off that stretches all the way to the green wooden fence next to the car park... there was yesterday.

I go in through P1 or P2. The worst queue this season was Everton, when it took me 28 minutes to get in. I joined the queue yesterday 20 minutes before kick off and got in with 8 minutes to spare, so only a 12 minute queue. The turnstile up ahead was in constant use (ie there was a continuous supply of people between the search point and the turnstile), so by definition the search itself cannot have been the source of the delay in getting into the ground. What was the situation at B1?

searches at N were about 3 feet at most from gates and did cause delays

One bloke with a wand doing bag searches and the wand on everyone, at the white tables. That was all it took for the queues to be all the way back, it was a slow process. Not enough staff doing it considering they were searching everyone. So after you were done you walked forward to the turnstile while he then did the same with the next person, no continous flow. For the queues to be this big so far before kick off was a new thing at B1 and B2..

Its definitely the searches at M1 and M2, before this season we never had any queue, even 5 minutes before kick off. I've had to queue 3/4 hour before kick off this season. Yesterday I was on a late train, and got to the ground at 13:20, and the queue's at nearly all the turnstiles I walked past were very long, including M1, and in some cases they were out onto Ashton New Road. The queue is caused by the stewards doing full on body scans in some cases, but then ignoring the results completely anyway, so its pointless at the moment.

Totally agree it was the stewards alleged security checks that caused the queues.
Hard to understand why anyone would dispute this after reading the posts on this thread, unless they have not bothered reading them all or work for the club or security company

Is there an e-mail address at City that I can use to let them know that due to them putting my life in danger & making us all sitting targets in long que's that they have created I won't be re-mewing my season ticket next year. Just had enough of this fake security shit & the showsec bullies.

Made me laugh

J was bad yesterday. Just two stewards searching for perhaps four entrances. They ended up letting everyone through with five minutes before kick off so all Terry Wrist needs to do is have one final pint in Mary D's and saunter across as Fatboy Slim is playing.

The current method is not working. It also didn't stop goodness knows how many Celtic fans getting in the home end either.
