quick straw poll on cup scheme.

couldn't afford them all so only signed up for champs league

my choice and I accept that those who signed up for fa cup scheme get first dibs

Just out of interest, why did you only sign up for the champs league games?

I have 4300 points or so, so I figured I couldn't get to the champs league final, I would get a ticket for the Carling Cup final if we got there, but wasn't sure about the FA cup final, so I signed up.

The cup scheme should be opened up to all supporters with any kind of membership. Distribution of tickets for big cup ties should then go to those with cup membership ahead of season ticket holders. Season tickets are for league games and its becoming quite clear that 1000's of season ticket holders can't be arsed going to early round cup ties.

Don't know if this is a clarkie (I hope so) but I suspect this will be the last year ST holders will be able to get a ticket if they're not on the scheme.

Non ST holders on the scheme still won't get a look in.

Deadly serious. A lot of season ticket holders take the piss when it comes to cup ties, time to separate the two. One scheme for league games and another for cup ties.

Why? Season ticket holders contribute just as much to the club and its success (I would say more) than some that might go to a couple of games.

I pay around £600 for my ST. Why should someone that might not even contribute a penny toward the club get priority.

As I said anyway, I doubt either would get a ticket next year anyway.

Because they're separate competitions and the club should treat them as such, just like many season ticket holders do. Not many from a round me have been to a cup tie since I moved there 6 seasons ago. But, on Wednesday at the Wigan match plenty of them were making their Wembley plans. Now that season ticket membership is pretty much a closed shop its time to open up the cup matches to those that can't get a season ticket.

Well I think that me buying a season ticket contributes to our cup success very much. Just as I think people who buy cup tickets contribute to our league successes (and get recognised for doing so through the loyalty points system for league away games. What a fucking shame if you have to start justifying our loyalty for each and every competition we enter.

For that matter, I've been to dozens of cup games in the past when getting to the final was a pipedream. I'm guessing you don't think that should count when an ex-Chelsea supporter with a bit of spare cash can just rock up on day 1 and guarantee himself a ticket.

Attending early round cup ties in the past is going to become the latest York away myth. Crowds were pitiful but everyone was there.
