Quitting tobacco

Smoked for 54 years,recently spending £120 a month on cigs.
My lad is struggling financially through covid.Ten weeks and one day ago I got up in the morning and decided that money would be much more use to him.Haven't had a cig since,and feel great being able to help him out a bit.

Not had a cig since 91 had a motorcycle accident and broke both arms 12 weeks in plaster.

Been on liquorice vapes for the past 3 years, 15 a day before that....tried the odd fag during that time and they taste bloody awful. £1.00 a day verses £10.00 a day, not difficult to work out.

You could get that £1 a day right down if you mix your own juice. I mix a litre at a time and costs me about £50. Lasts me around 6 months, and thats in a drip tank, which eats juice. In a normal none sub ohm tank it would last double that. I know this coz I mix juice for people who use these tanks.

Pleased to say i gave up smoking in January having smoked 40 years. Tried Champix but they weren't for me with mad side effects so gave up on them. Been using patches and gum and must say they have takenbthw wdge off craving a cig. Had one or two lapses since Jan but I'm going most days hardly thinking about cigs and not on patches now, just a 2mg gum piece or two now and again. I think I've got smoking beaten: )

Cheers mate. I'm sat in a pub beer garden having a beer with Sunday lunch and i picked a table near a couple of smokers, smoke wafting over. Had they been smoking decent quality hand rolling tobacco i may have stayed, but cheap tipped cigs reek nasty so i moved table.

Where Gauloises like a Woodbine? I have heard if them but dont remember smoking one.

THey're still available here, though not a patch on what they used to be.

I'm currently smoking 40 a day but decided to give up again from tomorrow and go on the vape.

They were Untipped French tobacco.
It was very, very strong and pungent.
Like Disque Bleu if you heard of them.
The nearest English ciggie was Capstan full strength.

Ah right, they sound as nasty as cheap spanish fags Ducados, they're vile. I once tried a Captain off an old boy, my skin almost turned green and I nearly passed out, never again!

I want to post a pic of post jaw cancer surgery but don't know how to do the spoiler alert so will walk away. Shouldn't be too hard to walk away seeing such shit but at the same time completely hypocritical on my behalf as I drink too much, party too hard, ski too fast without a helmet, whitewater kayak, decisions we make that are all life threatening. Good luck with quitting, hear it's not easy
