R.I.P Frank Worthington

RIP. I saw him at a Sportsman's evening a few years back and he was very entertaining - definitely a character. Think it was at Burnden Park, early nineties.

Superb footballer who, like many of the entertainers of that era, barely made it into the rather functional England team of the time. I think it was only while Joe Mercer was caretaker manager that Frank won most of his caps.

RIP

Here's an almost casual volley that I recall him scoring at Maine Rd

RIP Frank, one of the greatest entertainers from an era when each team had one. Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh, Tony Currie and Duncan McKenzie
Pretty much my thoughts mate, always ready to expect the unexpected with Frank and those others, elegance, flair, and capable of brilliance in an instant, R.I.P Frank, a wonderful player to watch.
