R.I.P Frank Worthington

Superb footballer who, like many of the entertainers of that era, barely made it into the rather functional England team of the time. I think it was only while Joe Mercer was caretaker manager that Frank won most of his caps.

RIP

Here's an almost casual volley that I recall him scoring at Maine Rd

Neil Mcnab brings down Gary owen for the penalty and 2nd goal.
Great goal by" Frankie baby " as he was known..in some quarters.

Very skillful and a proper character/entertainer, game is too fitness dependent nowadays for his sort who liked to live it up a bit. Shame as the likes of him could always entertain, and at the end of the day, thats what its about.

Sad news.

A great player and character. I was lucky enough to see him play

RIP

I was at that game, and then later on that evening I went on a blind date in town with a lovely young nurse from Burnage.
(My mate was going out with her sister).
We got on well(it helped that she was also a City fan,her favourite player was Mickey Horswill).
And we are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary next month!!!
Did she marry you because you look like Mickey Horswill? If so you have my sympathy.

I don't look anything at all like Mickey,so no need for your sympathy, thank you.
However I do believe that Mickey was a ginger iirc.
So to add a little twist to the tale, our 2 eldest daughters (born in 1982 and 1983) were both gingers.
Make of that what you will !!!!!
