So it's his fault for not telling you?

Not yours for doing some research in to his character?

That's another one of our problems, everybody is expecting other people to do the legwork for them. Nobody is willing to do it, and educate themselves.

It's Plato's Cave on a massive scale.

you cant determine someones character damocles. its called deception. have you never been duped before? i have.. im sure even bb2 has. (although he'd never admit it)

I love this England with all my heart, always have and always will, but I do not like the way we are heading. It seems the lunatics have taken over the society in our once great nation. We have feral youths roaming our streets with no direction, no ambition and a passion only for cheap booze and casual sex. We must be the only country on earth where people are actually financially better off not working as apposed to getting a job thus creating a nation of lay-abouts and scroungers. We now have justice system makes in near impossible to protect your property at the risk of becoming 'the accused' yourself if you dare to attack first and ask questions later.

I believe that all the changes above are not helped by the media today and the people who are hailed as 'role models' for our young. Gone are the days when we swooned at talented writers/singers/actors. Now, if you are willing to be vulgar, get your breasts out on telly or are stupid beyond belief you are awarded instant celebrity and are given almost royal status in the country’s 'Red Tops'. We have managed to produce a country of children whose ambition goes no further than winning X Factor and hail the likes of Katie Price, Katona or Jedward as the kings and queens of this morally corrupt society. And if you are not 'talented' enough you can always spew out 5 kids before you're thirty and watch the cash rioll in!

We are in desperate need of a strong leader/government who can some restore some pride, decency, ambition and morals back into this nation.

nice start almost suckered me in, but i know whats coming. you make broad sweeping statements about lazy workshy people and the rest, which of course is bang on.

can i take it you were in support of the miners when they were fighting to save there industry or were you one of maggies mates, that want to throw them and there communities on the scrapheap for political reasons and please don't insult me with the unprofitability bollox

In amongst your usual sensationalist, right wing bile are some reasonable observations (mainly the bit about role models and celebrity) but to claim that the Britain that our curtain twitching ancestors built was less corrupt, safer, fairer or more moralistic than todays society is to ignore fact and learned opinion. Every generation expresses an opinion that things are worse today than they were before.

Nostalgia, it's not what it used to be.

Bang on there. Folk who think it's somehow 'worse' today should have a read of, for example, The Times during the Victorian period - it's chock full of moral panic about crime, foreigners, corruption and morality during their age. They were saying exactly the same, as has every generation before or since.

Plus ca change.

I couldn't agree more. In fact I think we should have a televised contest to pick someone. We could call it "I'm a Dictator; Vote Me In Here".

We could have Katie Price, Kevin off Corrie, Ross Kemp, Geri Halliwell, Nick Griffin, Ian Hislop, Jon Gaunt, George Galloway and another couple of fit birds with big knockers. Every week they could be set a task like getting rid of drug dealers, illegal immigrants, asylum seekers, the unemployed, etc and the one who loses the popular vote gets eliminated.

I know, I didn't mean it to sound so harsh, I was trying to make a general observation.

I've been duped quite a few times actually, but from the most part, I learnt from it and tried to not repeat the same mistakes again.

If we had learnt anything from this MP scandal, it;s that our current system of governance doesn't work and we are in need of a change. Of course, what we'll actually do, is vote in more people who will lie and break promises/steal money. Only these ones will wear blue ties instead of red.

I believe in the free market and survival as the fittest. If we could source coal elsewhere cheaper then why not?!
