Some of you must live in a dream world, are you seriously saying City have no racist fans at all? I've certainly come across a few at various away games, more so in the last season or two. I've challenged isolated individuals about it on a couple of occasions, most recently at Everton. Sadly most blues prefer the "quiet life" and ignore these incidents rather than confronting the problem.

I dont live in a dream world but I am awake enough to know that I am sick and tired of some on here who are trying to turn a football forum into a political one.

Seriously though, I'm beginning to hate these semi-political threads. They serve no purpose, other than to wind everybody up. No disrespect to the OP; whom I'm sure posted in good faith. It's just we've tried discussing this topic before and all that we've learnt is that this is not the forum (no pun intended) to do it with any success.

I was at Maine Road in my season ticket seat in the mid 80s when we had a striker called Tony Cunningham playing for us. A guy nearby after Cunningham made a near miss said "hard luck Tony, you black bast***" just before half-time, and out he went - ejected by the stewards.

There was another guy who looked like a Panzer Tank commander, with a busted up nose and camel hair coat who was all for putting himself about - probably because he was short of a few brain cells and loaded up from the bar.

I guess there are always going to be situations at football matches, and football supporters by and large are not known generally for our good manners or contributions to the community (during football matches) - which is a shame really because so much good does get done which is over-shadowed by the senseless antics of a minority few.
