Racist incidents on the rise?

Allegedly......and,while inexcusable if true,it was in relation to a road rage incident where she was apparently driving like a twat.

I know what you're trying to say, but saying it in that manner is really poor. There's literally no excuse, no mitigation, anything, for calling someone a 'black ****'. No matter how badly they're driving.

Seriously Billy? i didnt respond to the other two......but which part of 'inexcusable if true' is not registering?

Thanks Stony. It's been so long since someone has agreed with something i've posted on Bluemoon i'd forgotten what it feels like. ;)
I've got friends who voted out and they gave their reasons, non of which were racist. Then I've got a cousin who I've had to delete from Facebook because of all the racist anti immigrant fucking nonsense she spouts. The ironic thing is she married a Pakistani immigrant in the 70s and had 4 kids with him.

It's why I said that I understood what you were trying to say but the way in which you worded it was poor. It makes it sound like your are on the one hand saying racism is inexcusable but on the other hand saying that she was driving like a 'twat' as if that somehow mitigates the fact she was racially abused. As I say I know you're not a racist and I know what you were trying to say. But the way you said it was clumsy.

Sorry, what? That is a ridiculous comment. And even if it was true, what the hell is wrong with someone cleaning the streets? What's that got to do with the current levels of hate crime in the UK?

it is true I'm afraid, and though nothing is wrong with cleaning the streets it isn't an aspirational job and symptomatic of the lack of opportunities ethnic minorities get in some of Europe. (I thought somebody not-too-bright would be arsey about this comment of street cleaners). My whole post was in response to a previous post about racism in the whole of Europe, read it again if you like as I don't care to explain any further

ps get a grip

I've got friends who voted "out" as well. Some of them have been really shocked by my reaction. At least one of them seemed to have not for a moment considered the social ramifications for the millions of immigrants and children of immigrants who live in Britain. I know this is far too simplistic, but it's worth saying nonetheless - there are plenty of far right parties who have economic policies which would include leaving the EU. I suspect that most people who voted "out" would never vote for those far right parties. Yet they don't seem to see that by voting "out" they've legitimised those parties in a manner which has never before happened in my lifetime. Very sad days.

You're spouting shite. I live in Valencia and I know you're talking shit but this type of rhetoric is what will become the norm from now on I suppose.

Not sure if this is covered but if anyone here knows this scroats, have a word!. Or even better report them to the police. Disgusting little bastards

Funny how the word immigrant seems to have these connotations associated with them now. In the past it would be a refence to colour or nationality - now to call someone a dirty immigrant seems to be the insult. Thanks media.

Even if true, it's sad that aspersions are being cast on a large number of people who had the temerity to vote to leave the EU for any number of reasons. The same argument wasn't used for Scots who voted for independence.

Liberal bed wetters need racism to justify their finger pointing.

I have neighbours who are both second generation British Asian and the husband is a doctor in the NHS. The wife told me this morning that when she was taking the kids to school some scrote shouted at her "Why are you still here?". On top of that when she got out of her car to call in a shop on the way home another one snarled at her "Why don't you lot all fuck off?" She said it was the first time she or any of her family had been racially abused in the street for well over a decade and this morning it happened to her twice in the space of an hour. To say she was upset is putting it very mildly indeed.

But keep pretending none of this is happening.

I don't think it's sad. I think I'm a grown man and if i'd decided to vote "leave" i'd have been mature enough to accept that by aligning my political position with a **** like Farrage I was probably going to be tarred with his brush, regardless of my personal reasons for wanting to vote that way.

If it had been used in that manor it would have been an issue no matter when it was.
