I'm sure most of us are still sent these and in some cases forward them on, the question is will today's society eventually start banging people up for this practise?

Will you one day be charged for being in possession of a racist or sexist joke?

the grand wizard returns for his monthly show!? THIS^^^^^^^^^

A bloke I used to work with is always sending racist jokes to me. He uses his work's phone and I have warned him about it in the past. He works for a large public sector employer and you can get away with murder there but racism/sexism etc. is not tolerated. He is in his early 50s and has worked there since leaving school, paying into the pension scheme for all those years so he has a lot to lose.

I heard recently that the cleaning supervisor there had been suspended. The vast majority of the cleaning staff are black. She was due to have an operation and would be off for a couple of months so she was asked to leave her mobile so her stand-in could use it.

When she gave it back, she forgot to erase the text messages and it is full of racist jokes and comments about her staff sent to a colleague. He has replied with similar comments and these were all still on her phone; the result is he has also been suspended.

You'd think this would make people a lot more cautious what they send.

Calm down I hear racist jokes around the office every day noone gets arrested for it.

I think they are more concerned with you actually thinking and questioning your fucked up situation than who is texting politically incorrect content. Look at Terry he is still captain of England and he was racist on national TV.

I am not offended one bit by racist jokes and I know plenty of people of other ethnic origin that feel the same, provided it is just that - a joke. The people who get offended by racial humour are usually white middle-class lefty tossers. I have a company mobile and all it is ever used for is company business - I send whatever I want from my own phone.

The people in the situation I described worked for a large public sector organisation that spunks loads of money up the wall on promoting diversity and provides highly paid non-jobs to an entire department headed up by Pro-vice Chancellor of Diversity and Equal Opportunities. If it had just been jokes, I would have sacked the dumb woman for just being stupid enough to send that sort of thing from a work's phone. The messages in question though were comments such as 'can you get **** to go to ****? That useless n****r hasn't shown up again'.
