Atlético: "If bids come in for Falcao, we'll have to consider them"
05/17/2012

"Falcao has another four years to run on his contract at Atlético de Madrid, but there are always offers at this time of year. European football moves very quickly and relentlessly, so if there are offers we will have to consider them, and if there aren’t, we won't", Cerezo noted from Colombia, where Atlético is currently on tour.

Speaking about Chelsea's rumoured interest in the Colombian marksman and the mooted swap deal for Fernando Torres, the Atlético chief insisted that "there are snakes in summer and between now and August we will see thousands of them come out of the grass to talk about this non-stop".

On the other hand, Cerezo alluded to Atlético's current financial troubles, which are forcing the club to limit spending – a situation exacerbated by its failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League – although he refused to confirm that this would spell the Colombian’s exit from the club.

Said it throughout the thread, a club in debt will always sell if the offer is enticing enough. I think Chelsea are more likely to get Falcao because their name is persistently linked with him. IF we were in for him, as we look likely to be more of a Real Madrid than Barcelona and not give academy talent much of a chance, we could dangle Guidetti as part of the deal (loan or permanent). Bigger clubs than Atletico are interested in him and he's a natural goal scorer.

Atletico already have Chelsea's keeper there to which could be used as part of the deal.

In theory yeah but Courtois is gonna be one of the best goalkeepers on the world and with Cech on the slow decline, I doubt Chelsea would want to involve him. Torres on the other hand...

Yeah Torres could be an option to go there. Hopefully he stays at Chelsea and fails badly though. Courtois looks really good to.
