Radamel Falcao Zarate

It's well and good having a goal machine but when Silva gets injured like now we have nobody to supply him

Yep, we definitely need a playmaker as well. In fact, all the isuues that were there before the summer transfer window, were still there after it. Lets hope some lessons have been learned.

Jovetic would be a better buy as he would be cheaper, is younger and would fit the City system better, Falcao and Aguero both like to be the main man(as does Dzeko and Balo.) up top, Tevez is the only striker we have who can have an positive effect when he drops deep buying Falcao would be buying for buying's sake.

Buying the best striker in the world isn't buying for buying sake.

(I'm not counting messi and ronaldo as strikers even though they often play up front)

Falcao To City?

Code:
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini makes move for Atlético Madrid's Colombian striker Radomel Falcao
Roberto Mancini is understood to have met with representatives of Radomel Falcao to persuade the £45 million striker to join Manchester City.

The City manager flew to Madrid to speak to Jorge Mendes. Falcao, the 26-year-old Colombian, is expected to leave Atlético Madrid at the end of this season.
More than one meeting has taken place, which suggests City are pushing hard to outmanoeuvre Chelsea and Real Madrid.
It appears that Mancini is driving the deal and he has also revived his interest in Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Falcao wants a $6 million (£5 million) salary after tax, which means around double that in gross terms, so the full cost would be around £85 million.
Mendes also represents Real coach Jose Mourinho, which has made that club favourite to sign the striker, while he has also kept strong links with Chelsea.
However, Chelsea could only acquire Falcao should they sell Fernando Torres and may concentrate on signing younger attacking players such as Bayer Leverkusen’s André Schürrle.
City would also have to sell if Falcao was signed with the futures of Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko most in doubt.

Re: Falcao To City?

we don't need another striker. it's too crowded already and when they don't score it's not because lack of quality or skill, it's because the midfield completely fails, or the defense lets in so many goals that even messi couldn't fix it.

Well if you believe another paper, we may only have three strikers as Balo could be going back to Milan.

I wonder how much. I'd take 18-20 mil for Balo. Truly insane if that PSG offer over the summer for him was legit and we turned it down

Two balls across the face today , one from Maicon, the other from tevez I think.
Falcao would have got on the end of them, he's got that instinct.
The more I think of Falcao and Aguero up top, the more I think it could be brilliant

Aguero would have to player deeper but the way he can run the flanks and the skill he has surely means that would be no problem and that he could play well with Falcao.

What's amazing about him is that he contributes so much even when he doesn't score, he's a machine. I've always had a soft spot for Atleti, so handing them £45m for a World Class talent will feel even better, :P

Re: Falcao To City?

Very unlikely imo at least until the summer but I could see a scenario where Guidetti goes out on loan and Balotelli goes to one of the Milan clubs to free up a space for Falcao and then in summer Dzeko would be sold leaving us with Falcao/Aguero/Tevez/Guidetti, Tevez then leaves in the next summer with Guidetti promoted as 3rd striker.

A lot of hype about this lad, and he sure as hell deserves it. Would love him at City.

Would be happy if we offloaded Balotelli to Milan and got Falcao as a replacement. Massive upgrade IMO.

Yeah, people talk about Aguero as the lead striker, which he can do. He's a natural skilful finisher who can put the ball in the net out of so many different situations , but I'm not sure he has that predatory instinct that Falcao has, Van Nistlerooy had etc.

I'd let kun play off him, use his flair to link up play, let him work the flanks.

He's still going to get in positions where he can score, just as Tevez does in this system
