And indeed, Holding himself. I could listen to that guy reading the phone book.Cricket! “And Michael Holding coming in to bowl from the Nursery End…” Never got tired of listening to John Arlott's Hampshire burr.

The bowler is Holding the batsman’s Willey. He did, he said it!And indeed, Holding himself. I could listen to that guy reading the phone book.
Jimmy Armfield was great.fair balanced knowledgeable and passionate.Used to always enjoy Stuart Hall as a kid (that reads awful) as he talked bollocks around the match report on the way home.
Then I met him...what a wanker. I wasn't that surprised that he ended up inside.
Jimmy Armfield was brilliant as well.

Jimmy Armfield was a gentleman and used to big City up back in the day, telling stories of past greats and crowds etc. However, that odious little twat Green never ever said anything remotely positive about us. On his commentary on the 99 play off final his words when describing City's 30 odd(official) thousand City fans.. 'Look at the City end, they get that for every home game, why ?'. Why do they do it to themselves? '. Any positives about our fanbase then,he coshed it on the head like we were all window lickers. TWAT!! And Stuart Hall, when he used to say 'Welcome to the home of Base Comedy' when referring to Maine Road, says all you need to know about that fuckin nonse.Jimmy Armfield was great.fair balanced knowledgeable and passionate.
Hall..less said the better. When asked about all that flowery descriptive rubbish he used to come out with whilst reporting from Maine rd in the late 70s/ early 80s he simply said
" oh I just made it all up"
Cheers Stuart....makes you think about the rest of the BBC both back then....and now.
Got it has a ring tone on my phone.I had a short radio compilation of Sergio's winner against QPR which is probably classed as more in the modern era. Hey, but what nostalgia that will be in years to come!
