Aguero, Jesus, Torres ?
Aguero wasn't here last year and Torres barely played and then left.

We have Grealish, Foden and Mahrez who played a lot last year.. We are losing Potentially Gabby and Sterling. Haaland and Alvarez are almost certainly replacing those 2.

If we add an extra player, a few guys will get very little playtime unless injury happens.

That's just playing how selective can I get. Drawing a line where it suits a made up point.

It is no different to arguing Haaland and Alvarez are already part of the squad, so who replaces Gabi and Raz, well not those two as they are already here.

At the end of the day, Haaland is replacing Aguero. Khaldoon literally said it in his Interview, Pep said it too, less directly. Doesn't matter that it is a year later when we made do while we waited, and it showed in 3 competitions. And Alvarez is replacing Torres, doesn't matter that he was bough 3 days after Torres was sold.

If now both Raz and Gabi leave, still leaves us light and needing a new solid player in. Not Grealish, not Palmer, but an extra body. We could probably spread Jesus' role among the team, and we might even make do without replacing bot, but it would be just that, making do till someone can be brought in again. And why, why compromise 2 years in a row, particularly after spending on Haaland and Alvarez instead of getting the most out of them with tge right squad.

The window is yet to open, both players are yet to leave. Plenty of time to replace one of them if they get sold, lets see how it plays out.

The windows open now.

It doesn't look light to me, given I have assumed that Jesus and Raz are both going and Fern is gone.
Wide left/RB are the only arguable positions, IMO.
I think that there may be opportunity, in cups, for Delap, Borges and Lavia to be phased in. I had hoped that Edozie may be the one but the club felt otherwise, clearly.

2 goals and an assist in the Milan derby yesterday, of great quality as well. Only 1 year left on his contract next summer, definitely one to watch. Should be very high up on our list to replace Mahrez (or eventually Bernardo if one of Foden/Grealish moves to midfield which probably will happen at one point)
