Forgot all about the Barron Knights. Took me right back to being 7 years old hearing those voices again!

Finance Chiefs Plot Man U 'Takeover'
Top city financiers have held a secret meeting over a possible bid for Manchester United Football Club, according to Sky News sources.

Representatives from law firm Freshfields and investment bank Goldman Sachs, among others, are involved.
Sky sources said the group, informally known as the Red Knights, met to discuss the possibility of taking control of the football club from the Glazer family.
Sky's city editor Mark Kleinman, who broke the story, said: "I should caveat all this by saying that the Red Knights campaign is at a very early stage, and while it has the support of influential fan bodies such as the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST), it’s possible that those involved may conclude it’s not ultimately viable."
More follows ...

The funny thing is, they are breaking a rumour of a supposed meeting about a potential bid by some unknown investors for Man United.

I'm sure there is a way of inventing a more factless story, but I'm not sure what it is.

Also, how good can these guys be at organisation if news broke that they had a meeting? Not exactly ADUG are they?

They can have 500 investors if they like, they aren't going to raise a billion.

If this is " Breaking News" on Sky why is the lead story about Warnock and just this second being followed by the news on Portsmouth.?

It's on Sky News, not SSN

I think its highly unlikely that United will ever get into serious financial difficulty, they are just too big an institution so any take over doesn't alter much.

The major event which will shape them in the not so distance future is how they replace. Ferguson.
