I know for certain he knows the Sheik's brother and works directly for the Qatar Royal Family. He is the CEO of the biggest O&G company out there and I've known him for a long time through work.
No one knows any facts at the moment, what I do know is that there is an interest and has been for months.
The facts I do know are they have a £60billion pot to buy companies and have so far spent around £45billion, their business plan is to buy and buy big (as in prestige or size) hence the harrods deal.
Gas production will soon outstrip Oil production and Qatar are sat on more than is imaginable and are currently the richest company in the world based on GDP per head

As for the first and second paragraph yada yada yada we could go on all day.

As for rich statistics, Liechtenstein’s per capita income is about $80,000 per annum the highest in the world....so what?
Ok you got me, i'm lying.

Got to go. I'm of to B and Q to talk to a man about loft insulation not something I relish but I sincerely hope he 'knows' more than you, it has to be said though I could find his knowledge much more interesting than yours.

Even if my wild stab in the dark were true, feeling a little better now having found out that the Abu Dhabi SWF is worth £627billion with Qatars being £65 billion.

Keep smiling blues, it's all good !

I wouldn't say that, Utd with a rich sugar daddy is worrying.
I hate to say it but if they can ever offer similar wages to us then there's only going to be one winner.

Only if Ferguson stays that is.

I dont personally see it as a problem, ther will be us,Chelsea and United as the richest clubs in world football.

It will then come down to management skills.

Bring it on i say.

If the Qatar group do come in and buy nited and then start to spend loads of money on them, they will be caught out by Platini's new rules.
Then maybe not the new rules probably won’t apply to them

True, but the Rags still have a huge merchandise empire to draw money from. Any new investor will simply be asked to eradicate the debt. After that under the new FFP rules which PL team could match them for spending?

It'd be a one horse show.

no you're not lying but a country with a native population the size of hull sitting on the world's largest liquefied natural gas deposits is always going to have the world's largest per capita gdp.

I think you'll find that buying a sports team will be something current Qatar state planning doesn't cover. They have huge links with the USA, this is true, but its only since 2001 that they got rid of the last despot and they are looking to stage events within Qatar. I don't think they will be looking at the scum, or any other football team, as its the USA that provides the bulk of there military defence. New York Mets, or Boston, maybe a football franchise.

One very important point that needs mentioning.

Fergie, God bless him, will retire one day. Money or not, how do you replace him?

If I had a worry, this would be the nightmare scenario. This could already be in the pipeline at OT.

Fergie to retire when Mourhino's contract runs out at Real, and he becomes United's new manager. Around the same time, the Glazer's sell United(£1-2bill) after clearing large chunks of the debt, to some Middle East or far East billionaire.

Mourinho + hundreds of millions to spend on players is a scary thought.

lets not forget ferguson was the clown who opened the door to the Glazers when he lost his court case with the Irish racehorse mafia.
The Glazers are probably more indebted to Ferguson than most can imagine.
As for the Qataris its possible and may partly explain Fergusons presence

Mourinho is short term wherever he has been or will go in the future
He will finish his managerial career trying to win the world cup with his national team.

They will have to smash there existing wage structure to tempt Europes best,in doing so destroying everything they conceive themselves to be-weve all heard it before

all players born dream of playing for United
all players at Owe Trafford are not in it for the money
all players at Owe Trafford came through there youth system

They will become a club full of mercenaries, more so than at any other club as they will have to pay THE biggest wages for the best players.
