One very important point that needs mentioning.

Fergie, God bless him, will retire one day. Money or not, how do you replace him?

If I had a worry, this would be the nightmare scenario. This could already be in the pipeline at OT.

Fergie to retire when Mourhino's contract runs out at Real, and he becomes United's new manager. Around the same time, the Glazer's sell United(£1-2bill) after clearing large chunks of the debt, to some Middle East or far East billionaire.

Mourinho + hundreds of millions to spend on players is a scary thought.

Mourinho is short term wherever he has been or will go in the future
He will finish his managerial career trying to win the world cup with his national team.

They will have to smash there existing wage structure to tempt Europes best,in doing so destroying everything they conceive themselves to be-weve all heard it before

all players born dream of playing for United
all players at Owe Trafford are not in it for the money
all players at Owe Trafford came through there youth system

They will become a club full of mercenaries,more so than at any other club as they will have to pay THE biggest wages for the best players.

I'm sure they can live with that tagg.

If Mourinho takes over at United, and all indications from him suggests he will. And United are finally bought by a billionaire who can spend like our owners. Those deluded Rags will see it as a natural continuation of the dynasty, especially after the slight hiccup of the Glazer years. Don't be fooled, just like us, the Rags will celebrate Mourinho and a billionaire owner. I can hear the gloating already in my head. Watch how such an outcome will be reported positively by 'all' the media outlets, ex-players and pundits.

Now don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than the current situation at OT to stay as it is, minus Fergie. But there's always a chance that won't happen.

One thing is for sure. Fergie will eventually retire, even though he has recentally stated he is staying put. I have no problem with that, as the next manager will have the weight of the world on his shoulders, and that includes the Special One.

However, the thought of the Glazers selling United to a Billionaire, and there are plenty out of them about interested in United, fills me with unease.

As it stands, even with Fergie, we have the resources to eventually overtake United. That only leaves Chelsea(ageing team) and Arsenal.(unpredictable and with no money) However, United with a billionaire owner, willing to spend like ours, is a different beast all together.

I think you'e wrong to suggest there are billionaires queueing up to buy the rags. If that were the case don't you think the Glazers would have sold to teh highest bidder, removed the debt burder hanging over them and run for the hills with a billion quid in their back pockets.

What I do think is clear is that Fergie is prostituting himself over in Qatar to try and get them interested (promoting their WC bid FFS what does he know about Qatar!) as he knows it is only a matter of time now (without major investment) before we take them on and start beating them and despite his public protestations to the contrary about the 'Un*ted way' they would grab middle Eastern cash at the drop of a hat. I don't underestimate how far that tw*t would go to keep the rags at the top after all he has devoted 24 years of his life to that evil empire.

That said, it would be a blow to my hopes of Un*ted slipping to oblivion but we would still have the best and richest owners in the world so nothing will stop us from challenging.
