Rag trade

Some finance expert on ssn seems to think someone has invested in the club paying off the pik notes early means their debt stands at just over 480 mill instead of 700 mill.

He thinks they will now invest quite a fair bit into transfers.

This really could be bad news for us.

Certainly seems so..........bugger

Why is this bad news for us??? Can't we just sort our own shit out?

Don't get me wrong, i hate the bastards, but how much money they have/ don't have/might have matters not one iota to me.

F**k em.

Well considering we are in direct competition with them might be one reason to be concerned, we have over the last 2 years had to spend over £300 mill just to get near them in terms of squad quality and league position.

Them being in serious debt has helped us in terms of them not investing in quality players, now a huge chunk of that debt is gone they are in a better position to invest in more quality. They turnover huge money so fit well into the new FFP rules.

That imo makes our task more difficulty and should we target the same players could give them a slight advantage in that they maybe able to compete better than they have.

As Booby Charlton said last week on The Cantona Derby programme.

When City do something positive (Win the league in 68, 99 play offs) United go one better....."they've been unlucky to say the least"

FWIW I won't see this as positive until they glazers have gone

The PIKs are the Glazers personal debt. It has nothing to do with the debt on utd, albeit I think it was secured against utd assets (although I may be wrong)

Whilst this doesn't directly affect utd, it sure as hell will mean the Glazers will need to siphon even more cash out in the coming years.

this is all a big media/PR spin to make it seem like they've got pots of cash.

They are still in the shit. The Glazers & the club.

I'm no financial expert by any means and take your points (as much as i can understand) but to me it's all if's but's and's and maybe's with their situation.

There's no disputing whatever happens with them, we've still got financial backing we could of only dreamt of in the dark days so either way we'll be closer to em.

Again......F**k em.

A couple of noteworthies here

United posted another quarterly loss, narrowed from last quarter - but a loss is a loss.

And what United are saying is that no dividend has been drawn off the club (there could well be a YET there as well)

They are not saying that other club resources have been used as security or that there are other revenue streams that WILL be used in future to pay back the loans made recently by the Glazers.

Its smoke and mirrors IMO
