Rag

Their own fans back in the 1930's use to say "I'm going to watch the rags today" meaning United as the kits they wore were described to of looked like rags, but then other fans jumped on the band wagon and apparently they hated it and never used the term ever since.

To be honest I prefer using the term Rags then Munich because it's less disrespectful and shows we are better then they are (in terms of not bringing up disaster history) plus not many red twats know why we say Rags because its not advertised every Febuary 06th.

Because during the thirties they were in the shit and totally potless. They were helped out by various donations of kit, boots etc; hence 'Rags.' Their own fans apparently are credited for giving them this title.
And they were bailed out in the early 1900 when they were Newton Heath and even we bailed them out after the war.

Of course 99.9% of rag supporters don't have a brain to ever have knowledge of their club as many believe the club was founded in 1992.

And it originated with a journo taking dislike with their kits and complained that "It looked like they where playing in rags.." at the time.
