There really are some "clever f*****s" on this thread it must be said.
Nice and slowly now, these figures are based solely on money that has been generated by the clubs, as in TV money, gate receipts, shirt sponsorship etc.
The turnover of a football club has nothing to do with any money that is being pumped into a club by it's owners, hence Manchester City are in reality the richest club in the world, but without their rich Arab owners money they are currently the 20th richest club in the world.

Exactly! Just because an owner of a club is rich does not make the club rich. The only way to gauge it is to look at revenue/turnover which, as allready explained, is down to money in from gate reciepts, merchandising, prize money from tournaments etc!
I've been trying to explain this to Chelski fans for years. I think they are just about realising it's the truth wih the recent goings on down there.
Unfortunatly, it also means "them lot" being in so much debt is of little relevance. It's the Glaizers problem and should they ever sell the debt would go with them and there would be no more debt at Man Yoo.

We are the richest club. The people who want to use the word 'rich' to mean how much a club earns are silly but they are free to use such an odd definition of the word if they so wish.
In their wacky world a man earning the minimum wage is richer than a retired billionaire who earns nothing but has huge assets and the odd million or two lying around in his current account.
To the rest of us, rich means you've got lots of money, and richest means you've got the most money. And City have got the most money.
