Rags in financial trouble?

If a 'product' is nearly at its max and relies on an equal performance every year to sustain its debts then surely it adds up that any downward trend is dangerous?

This is an important point, even if it turned out to be only partly true.

What I mean is, for example, Utd's sponsorship deals can be expected to have clauses in them which allow for exposure. Now they've dropped out of the CL how much less will they get from, say, their shirt sponsor or kit sponsor (or DHL !) than they did last year when they reached the final. It's one thing to say their deal is worth X amount, but that's the potential amount.

Dippers being prime example. Adidas offered them less money for their kit deal due to lack of european football, Rags have a couple of off seasons which i suspect they will and they'll do the same.

As expected really, I'd love to see them collapse but it seems more hyperbole than anything, they spent nearly as much as us in summer and will always find money while surviving.

They recalled a 37 year old ginger has-been instead of buying a much needed midfielder. Of course they're in financial trouble.

And the fact that the sister-in-law shagger is going to play on for another year is another sure sign.

I've no idea whether they've paid it but under the terms of the bond they've got a month's grace initially. Having had a good look at their cash-flow I'd be amazed if they were really struggling to find the cash BUT they still have to pay wages and other expenses with not much coming in for 4 months, plus they have to find the capital to repay the bonds as well as pay transfer fee instalments and fund new players.

So it wouldn't shock me if they were looking for a cash injection via investment. They tried a partial float after all, which got knocked back. They've got a desperate balancing act to pull off involving staying competitive on the pitch while servicing debt, plus it's also possible the Glazer family relies on United's cash for their own living expenses and possibly even to prop up other businesses or support other debt we don't know about.

They'll just give SkyManUSports a ring for the dosh and they'll be tripping over themselves to give it em

For a club that has a lot of money problems

They sure found 60m odd to buy De Gaylord, Young, Jones etc

It's true they did but there is a definate shift in thier finances.

Having greater competition is affecting them.

Less champions league prize money and prob less from sponsorship deals.

There is a prize pot derived from where you finish in your domestic competition split 40/30/20/10% from uefa as well.

Competition for players and the wages paid are all putting the pressure on.

Owners with problems domestically in relation to thier business there.

No way will they collaspe overnight but imo the constant chipping away at thier powerbase will eventually degrade thier ability to dominate.
