Strangely enough, no. They melted away in virtual silence afterwards. I had to get back to my mate's car in Trafford Park for a lift home - 10 minute walk or so - and the atmposphere was totally muted. I was also very concerned that my local accent might blow my cover but it was a piece of piss blending in ;)

As others have said, the bottleneck around the away turnstiles is the same every season with hundreds of United fans passing through to their end kindly stopping to serenade us with their repertoire of nursery rhymes. For the most part it's just banter but it can get a bit lairy and it really should be better policed. You can't get within 50 feet of their turnstiles at our place and it's all cordoned off. I appreciate that it's different at Old Trafford - the location of the away end in relation to the entrances to the south stand and Stretford End means that it's inevitable their fans will pass within such close proximity to ours with congestion a knock-on effect of that but surely the police can move those fans on that have decided to stop and bait.

the plod who was filming the City fans for the whole match (plus pre and post match and half time) would have had to move his camcorder a few inches and he would have had it. but clearly not bothered about scum incitement

Perhaps so mate, but what I should have said was show the footage to someone in authority and not the plod on the scene. Once this was pointed out I am sure that something would have or have to be done about it for next time.

Banner said something along the lines of Giggs 12 Bell 1 Premierships although as I have said earlier Bell never played in the Premierships so in fact that banner could have replaced Bell with Best/Charlton/Law etc etc. Not like the rags to let the facts get in the way of a shit banner though
