Another fine example of a journalist belligerently refusing to be anything other than negative about him in the form of Paul MacInnes on the Guardian Football Weekly podcast. Even when challenged on his stupidity by the one of the other people on it, he still just starts making stupider and stupider points. It's bizarre how much some journalists hate him, it really is. Apparently Sterling is just a player trying to look like he's playing well, whatever the fuck that means

The difference is that Sterling didn't do anything worse than anyone else for England and has had the abuse since the day he left Liverpool.

That was on the back of doing something that hugely cost England though and it only really lasted that summer and the media soon turned around. Sterling has been getting it for over a year now, all for leaving Liverpool, nothing to do with what he's done for England. I don't think being black is the reason, at least not the main reason, it has much more to do with who they play for. I guarantee that he wouldn't be getting even a tiny fraction of the abuse he's been getting from all corners of the media if he played for Liverpool or United.
