I ain't questioning the "big game" record,I'm talking about general consistency.................of which there is none

Absolutely, but I think Sterling's shown a good level of consistency this season, there will always be some odd games where his moves aren't working out for him at all. It's all part of the process of being a young player.

Who in our squad has shown consistent form this season? Arguably Silva, although he had a period earlier in the season where he struggled, apart from that is there anyone else?

Not many,if any really this season, but this is about Sterling, where it seems, on here especially, that nobody cannot be critical of him.

He had a good, not great, game on Saturday, where he roasted a few HULL defenders,a team that hadn't won an away game since the second game of the season,August 20 at Swansea, and everyone came out with how great he was,and I say looking at the opposition we have left to play this season I expect the same from him really

The "young" player tag has to be rid of soon though I'm afraid,he has been playing at the top level for a good few years now,and also gets into the England squad,he's not a kid whose trying to learn his trade these days as much as others at his age,who have not played at the top level for that amount of time

I don't get your stance on this mate. Nobody prevents anyone from being critical on here, some just defend the player against said criticism, that doesn't mean you can't be critical.

Just off the top of my head I recall him having very good games against Barcelona, Arsenal at home and Monaco at home this season so I can't agree with your assertion that he only does it against 'small' teams.

Mostly because he's often targeted unfairly. And looking at your post history, you seem to the same. Not seen you in the Stones, Sane, Aguero, KDB etc thread when they've had average games.

I'll explain my stance on him,in three little words mate, not that good

For the fear of falling out with people on here who think otherwise I want to avoid,it's my personal opinion that is all,and as you say we are entitled to opinions.

He gets my backing when he is selected, because I'm crying out for him to win me over, but he fails to impress me more times than I would like.

You mention 3 big games where he has shone, arguably every game is big,but you know what I mean,we play the other 6 teams twice a season,so that is 12 opportunities there, you mentioned just one,so some sort of agreeance can be reached here ?

I'm a frayed knot mate, I'm not having that he's "not that good", sorry. He's frustrating at times, there's plenty of room for improvement still but as he's showing this season, he's getting there.

He's literally one of, if not our most consistent player this season and one of the most productive attacking midfielders in Europe.

No player plays well every single game.

Shame that the media got into the head of people like yourself and with the likes of you Sterling is held up to a standard which is near impossible to achieve.

If you have that kind of times on your hands to trawl my posts, then good luck to you,my post history will also show you how long I've been on here, and as a season ticket holder have seen with my own eyes how performances have been.

As for the 4 other players you have mentioned, they have not warranted any particular criticism from me really.

Been a shame for Stones without a helper at the side of him this season, this will help us all including himself next season, where he be stronger, and our future captain

Sane - Been a few non existent performances since he got his chance, but as always looked our most potent threat from a wide position, and has chipped in with 4 goals in 14 starts

Aguero - I'm firmly in the camp that he is the best striker we have ever had at the club,in my time of watching us since 1981,has his moments, agreed, but he will never be able to do wrong in my eyes between now and the end of his career at City, simple as that

KDB - I've got higher hopes, that is all I can comment on him, this season being in mind a poor one
