Even today that has-been Phil Thompson is still gobbing off, according to Radio 5.

The wankers at talkshite are still at it as well...had the headline "Sterling shirt number revealed".

The press behaviour leads to fans feeling justified in their behaviour towards sterling. It's a total fucking witchunt that's essentially fuelled by the media. They are leading the pack of wild dogs from the front and need bringing down a peg or two.

No she really isn't. The club will and do have a press plan, and brief accordingly. We are owned by people who value dignity and who are in it for the long game. They don't do public slanging matches, but do have long memories . The clubs press strategy will be lead from the top , and implemented by Vicky Kloss, not the other way round and since she is still here, she presumably is doing what her bosses have asked.

Is of course the correct answer mate but it's rant time for a few and there has always got to be someone to slag off.

The media have been a disgrace throughout. I don't think there would have been this much animosity had the scum bought him.

Phenomenal lack of accurate consistent detailed reporting of this transfer.

As soon as sky sports news broke an agreed fee of 49 million - the picture was painted right there and then for the numpties who don't understand detail or context sadly.

The truth is - a distinction needs to be made with what we have paid Liverpool and what we (via Liverpool) have indirectly paid QPR.

We have paid Liverpool closer to 35 million pounds for this footballer. That is what he is effectively valued at by his club right now. Not 44 million or 49 million. Even Carragher has been at it again in the paper this morning quoting 49 million and saying his true value is closer to 25-30 million (so we have actually paid 5 million more than Carragher's valuation of the player).

The add ons are perfectly logical because if we pay them - it means his value has increased based on success.

The QPR point seems to have been glossed over very quickly by most media commentators. This is an important detail - which I think needs appreciating more. I think it is perfectly acceptable and just that a larger football club compensates a smaller football club when purchasing a talent produced by them at a young age. Which is why I am perfectly content in City paying a specific fee which caters for this additional compensation.

But lets get this right - Liverpool have received 35 million for this player right now. That is the deal. The QPR point is a different context and has no bearing on what Liverpool have received or will receive in add ons for this footballer.

Nobody says a word when Liverpool or united cherry pick Southamptons best talent. It's amazing, best thing ever for these lads but if we were going for these lads it would be a totally different story ! Just look at the 24 hours of mass hysteria when we were in for Fabian Delph?
Is it All designed to scare players into not signing for us ? Nasri suffered similar bully tactics yet other players do not get similar hassle when moving within the league

It's no wonder that as a nation we will never have a National team winning things - the media seem to put a negative spin on everything. At least our foreign owners have invested in a facility that one day will produce some local talent that have been nurtured and brought up with a winning mentality on the doorstep. I stopped listening to talksport as it's the only protest that I can make - utter tripe!

Vicky is clearly good at her job working to the owner's brief as she now represents the whole City Group For someone to suggest she is useless is totally unfair as I doubt they are aware of the hours and dediction to puts into the job
