I think in regards to Sterljng, people need to realise that he's going to be nowhere neat the finished article yet. He's only 20 and yet has shown quality in the Premier League for over two years. He's going to be a great player and I for one hope we move for him.

I totally agree mate. Do you perform to your best when your mind is elsewhere? Sterling, ward prowse and schneiderlin should be top homegrown targets this summer!

We can include Barkley as well...inconsistent for Everton this season.

And then we can all but guarantee that we wont be finishing top four next year...genius. Where's this movement all of a sudden for overrated English players coming from?. The posts above me suggest blowing nearly our whole budget on meh players. We are in fourth place for one fucking night and this happens.
We promote our talent from the youth for the homegrown places and spend money on two or three top drawer players (Bale,Koke, Reus, Pogba) ....and fucking Raheem fucking duck arse Sterling is not top drawer FFS

We have to start buying English players. Sterling is a very young player with huge potential. He's 20 years old and has already done a lot in the game. Buying him would be a major statement of intent.

No it wouldn't. Beating a few players is not a bloody achievement or is being fast. What has he achieved exactly? As he played at a major tournemount? Has he played a major part in a trophy winning team? I guarantee that like Micheal Owen Raheem Sterling has peaked early and has nothing more in his locker....he already thinks he's the bees knees and that's part of the problem with signing him. No no no no and fucking NO to signing him, we will regret it

He's already played for England at a world cup at the age of 20. Helped Liverpool to second in the league, and has been a key figure for them this season. He's top at the goals, assists, chances created and key dribbles for Liverpool. He's a very good young player.

We have to start producing players from the academy and buy 2 very good players every year and I mean top drawer.

Exactly, and you get people that wonder why we do shit in the CL. It's because we have ore average players than we do world class. Buying sterling wouldn't make us any better in the champions league. He could however score a tap in against Barnsley in the COC.

Amen.

It's quite hard to judge him by his Liverpool form this season.

The difference between playing alongside Moreno/Markovic and Aguero/Silva is just night and day.

He's their most influential forward by a mile, yet is still only 20 years old. Very impressive.

I don't think he has an attitude problem, he's a winner. It's clear to everyone that Liverpool are miles away from winning regular domestic trophies and Sterling and his agent both know that.

He had a superb season last year when playing with possibly the best forward in the PL,Suarez,so we know he`s capable of performing to a more than decent level. For me its the usual cry of being English but I`m NOT suggesting he`s worth the so called £50M that the Scousers want.

Sterling is young enough to be a City player for 10 years. That'd be £5m a season for a player who's already effective at Premier League level and has done enough to indicate he can become an asset in Europe as well.

In real terms, £50m is probably about 25% too much at this point, but when you're spending £30m on Fernandinho in his late 20's having never played in a big league, or anything between £35-42m for Mangala then £50m for what's been recognised as the best young player in Europe is fair.
