We want TEAM players not spoilt little boys who just want lots of money and if they can't get their own way sulk and put in a transfer request.
Personally I don't think he's not a team player...gives his all on the pitch. Loves a bit of laughing gas granted but other than stating to Liverpool he wants to win trophies which is what he will do with us I have never heard of any bad press from Liverpool about this lad...

The only reason why he's getting booed by the bastards is because quite frankly they do not want to let him go...therefore would rather tarnish his name in the media to potentially have us thinking he's not a good boy as he seems.

This lad signs for us he's happy because he'll be challenging for trophies year in year out paid handsomely and would be loved by us because he's an exciting prospect

Bluemoon 98 if he cannot put a simple lob in the net now or improve his passing he never will. Its not as though he is 16, players do not improve considerably once they hit 20. £40M is a lot and way over the top for what Andy Townsend would call a speedboat without a driver.

Was Andy in his tactics truck when he thought of that one?

I

I too would love him at city, but if we walk away now it could help us secure other targets far easier. It would show we are willing to pay top dollar but won't be pissed about. Other clubs will be forced to accept our second offer at the latest or fear we'll walk away as well. So get those deals done, then go back for Stirling in a months time with the same offer after shitting themselves that they've got a seriously unhappy star player that they can't play on their books

This, I'd actually allow Liverpool to string this out, provided we have a secret agreement in place, to allow us to hardball our other transfer targets over the next week or two, and once we have fees agreed there then go back and sign off Sterling.

No rush to get the deal done. Hopefully Sterling will do his thing, then we have plenty of time to wait for a call from Liverpool.

He should do as Franny Lee did when he wanted to come to City from Bolton ... he went on strike and finally got his wish.

I think he's already done that!!

This isn't about money, this is about wanting to join a bigger club for success.
If you don't think this is about money you are very naive!

Do you honestly believe Sterling is leaving Liverpool to go to us for the money?

Have you woken up in the 80's when Liverpool actually challenged for titles?

No, I am living in the 21st Century where everything is about money but it doesn't mean to say that it is right. In 12 months time, if we sign this little boy, if he is not getting what he wants from City, like YaYa now, he will do the same as he is doing with Liverpool, he will start sulking, start getting his agent to tell City that they have to form the team around him etc., etc., and that is what I am talking about. But, hey we all have a right to an opinion. I've lived through the 80s, no desire to go back there thanks. :-)

Have we returned with yet another bid?

I've really talked myself into this transfer, so much so I'll actually be a bit gutted if we don't get it tied up. The potential space he could create for Aguero is the thing which is making me hope we sign him.

Taking Liverpool's prize asset away from them and putting them in their place is the real sweetener for me.

Ian Ayre is such a simpleton, he thinks we will just pay 50m because they rejected our previous offers. We may need HG players but they also need the money. Let's just secure our other targets and I guarantee they will accept the 40m in a few weeks when they realise that there are no other bidders, we won't go any higher and they are running out of time to sign players. They will buckle eventually we just need to be smart.

You tell them Eccles. Don't think we'll be 6th with a twat like Brendan Rodgers in charge, a bunch of cunty scousers in the stands and no hope of winning the league for 25 years this time next year though.

We paid ott prices for both Lescott and Milner but we got very good service out of them and the days when clubs demand ridiculous prices for HG will not last long imo.

So why are MLS or Middle Eastern teams not in for him then, if he'll just go to the highest bidder? Players want to play for the best teams in the biggest competitions. Obviously that also comes with the highest salaries, but that doesn't make the salary the motivating factor.
