Well Coutinho was supposed to have been brilliant, & Sterling did pretty much everything better than him, over the course of the season.

I think people are being far too harsh because a 20 year old kid failed to drag a piss average, badly managed, Liverpool team, into the top 4.
Bang on the money. You can be sure the narrative would be completely different if he didn't want a move. Gerrard should have been slaughtered for his piss poor performances last season, and his piss poor leadership the previous season when the **** buckled under pressure.

But they are really good players, Sterling is nowhere near any of them and may never be. If you were talking about Reus or Pogba, fair enough, but Sterling?
Give the lad a chance. Shines even for LFC and England, despite having a very difficult season for non-footballing reasons.

Over-priced possibly, but the most explosive English talent in the game. That ability over 2-3 yards in and around the penalty area is priceless and at City there's no way he could be double-marked.

I have absolutely no idea why that's making me laugh. Oh, and your location has just made me hungry!

Countinho was Liverpool's best player last season.

This guy will be priceless away from home. Can you imagine him on the break with aguero when Sergio does his picking up of the ball on the half way line and cutting inside a few defenders.

Defenders have to drop a few yards back to compensate for his pace. I wouldn't fancy playing against our front line, then if one gets tired you have to face Bony off the bench.

Sterling carried Liverpool in the first half of the season. Struggled in the second but lots of issues there by that stage.

He still created more scoring opportunities than anyone in the leagye bar Hazard and Silva. Which was pretty good given the state of their forwards.

And yet most of his stats are worse than Sterling, who was 'poor'.

How does that work ?

Do those stats show how many times Sterling forgot where he was on the pitch and ran the ball out of play while he had his head down trying to go round the full back? Does it show his defensive frailties (defending starts from the front and he doesn't cut it in that dept)? Or how many absolute sitters he missed right in front of goal or one-on-one with the 'keeper because his finishing is poor?

It would upset them even more if we put a bid in for Countinho as well (not that we need him) but the candles would be lit and wreaths laid.

Sterling is brilliant at defending from the front, & yes those stats do show pretty much everything Put Sterling as a comparison at the bottom you can see all the stats. He has a slightly better percentage of tackles won than Coutinho, even though he played a fair bit as striker & created 75 chances compared to 59. Has a higher passing accuracy, which is 79% in the opponent's half. Higher percentage of duels won, crosses, assists, goals, shooting accuracy.

Not that I'm a huge fan of stats, but they do prove whether Sterling was as bad as he's being painted by some, which he clearly wasn't.

iirc he worked at the bridgewater and he used to see the players having their medicals. That's why his info was always 100% when he posted. As far as I know we now do the medicals at the new training ground so he is no longer privy to the same information. Also, Sterling will not have had a medical yet because nothing has been agreed.
He might have other sources and I've no doubt he's posting in good faith, he never bullshitted or came across as an attention seeker.
With this in mind I wouldn't be as confident in his info as I was on previous occasions.
Was that not Salford Paul?

No I know what SP did for work mate. However Paul was another good ITK who seldom got much wrong and he wasn`t a bullshitter.

Fair enough. MCRJON has been spot on a few times since the campus opened though, more likely club medical staff than Bridgewater imo, either way I'd trust him.

Getting a bit desperate.
