But for how much? what's to stop us rushing in tomorrow with 50m and Liverpool say 'no'. What then? 55? 60? where does it end?
What do we think he's actually worth to us?
 
Raheem Sterling character assassination part zzzzzzzz, going on @ TalkShite with Saggers & Dempsey at the moment. The intro regarding his lack of respect for lpool was similar to one of those sad stories on Radio 1 from years back. Sob sob, fuckin nauseous.

If they do that then fair enough they'd be taking the piss but the asking price hasn't changed all summer. They want £50m yet we're trying to be clever by not meeting it and refusing to go over £40 million when we know full well they aren;t going to back down over the asking price. It's just a pointless dick measuring contest and is a waste of time.

Exactly I feel a bit bad for him. He's taken the steps necessary to try and speed up this transfer and is receiving no end of abuse for it and City are twiddling their thumbs trying to see who will blink first. Left him right up shit creek.

Just had the misfortune of listening to 15 minutes of this on the way home, unbelievable shite.
They are adament the only reason he is wanting a move is money, Liverpool being the bigger club, more history, poorly advised etc..
No mention of us winning two titles in 4 years, no mention of Sterling not being born the last time the dippers won it. No mention of champions league being a factor, no mention of his pace being just what we are crying out for. No mention of the assassination he has recieved from dipperland and the press.
Why would he want to stay with a club who's fans abused him for the last month of the season? i can still recall the photo of the fans giving him the abuse against Stoke.
Most telling they commented that he may not get in our side as he isn't good enough, well we are putting our money where our mouths are and are paying top dollar for him. we are showing him the faith and respect that the Lala's have failed to do. They are determined he is a £50 million player put only prepared to give him £100k

Agreed,and I know certain transfers can end up being complicated but it always seems that the majority of ours get dragged out longer,still think we will get sterling in the long run along with Delph but miss out on pogba and de bruyne ...

How about Villa, former European Champions?
