Given the situation at the beginning of the summer, this was probably about as well as it could pan out, from a Liverpool FC point of view.

But as a Liverpool fan I have to agree with some of the comments on here regarding that money won't buy titles. The fact is that Liverpool has lost a very good player to a rival club. Again. Not only that, once again the difference in wealth is being exposed to the world. Liverpool simply can't compete with the rich clubs any more.

However, I don't think his ceiling is as high as some in this thread seem to think. He will improve City, no doubt. He's got speed, he is great at taking players on 1on1 and he is one of the strongest players I've ever seen (pound for pound). But he doesn't have a very good touch. He hasn't got a good shot, and he is absolutely terrible at crosses. And you don't develop that touch, you either have it or you don't.

He is only 20, he is English, he is a very good player, very good, and will get better. The lad has pace, an eye for goal and will flourish playing with better players. 49 million too much? Market value unfortunately. Better than what we already have? Yes. Better than Navas for sure. Will give us more options in attack, more pace and a greater goal threat.

Has there been any "official" word on when the medical's scheduled and the other formalities or is it just safe to assume tomorrow?

Awesome signing. He'll light up the Etihad and win over his doubters in the process.

After the shite he's had to endure from the scousers I'll be backing him 100%.

I suggest 2 anyone who doubts this lad wants 2 read the last or second to last chapter of Nowhere Men

Absolutely buzzing, can't wait to see him fill a gap that we've needed for the last few years and use his pace with his end-product to maximum effect with players like Kun and Bony on the end. The reason IMO that he wasn't doing as well last season was because he was being marked more than in 13/14 because Suarez and Sturridge weren't playing so Sterling became their key player. I couldn't give a shit about the price, we've got England's best young player for the next 4 years at least. If we manage to get Kdb and Pogba as well then suddenly our ageing squad doesn't look so old and we can really look forward to the future with an excellent upcoming spine (Denayer, Pogba, Kdb, Sterling, Kelechi.) Liverpool can win the PR battle, we're gonna be winning the battles on the pitch...

Liverpool fans are angry with the wrong people. The reason you're a selling club is down to your owners.

He'll be a great signing for us. Worth every penny.

Rawk is genuine comedy gold. There's 1/2 realists in there to their credit but the rest of them are all pretending to be delighted with this deal. Regardless of how much money has been paid and how much they/we or anybody else think he's worth, It boils down to City taking the current golden boy, and Liverpools best player away from them when they didn't want to sell him. That says a lot about our club and even more about the state of theirs. If that's losing, i hope we lose on Pogba too.

If Aguero was sold for twice the world record fee I'd still be fucking gutted. I'd probably feel that the money for the club was good, maybe even fair value, but a player I idolise would have departed and so I wouldn't be thinking about the cash; I'd be thinking that a truly great player had left. If we would have had a player come up from the EDS at 17, be it Barker, Kelechi etc. and they had the impact for us that Sterling had for the dippers, I'd be fucking gutted if they then left left for £50 million after two seasons, just like I was gutted when SWP went to Chelsea for £22.

They can feign some sort of victory from the fee all they like, but what matters is the 90 minutes on the pitch, and they have definitely shat out in that regards.
