Sterling owes the club nothing and going off how he’s treated by the fans both in the stadium and online, he doesn’t owe them anything either.
Any player who improves at a club owes that club a debt of gratitude for providing the training, development and platform to improve, so I would disagree with your viewpoint on that.

He's our second top scorer In the modern era. When at his best he's world beating. I do think he's past his peak but deserves recognition for what he's done here.
For sure! Played on and a half season without a striker. I’d reckon he stays and see how things goes with Haaland and Alvarez as his support, then deciding. Also, won’t change teams 5 months before a World Cup

Agree but what I mean is, he is more than entitled to leave on a free if he wants (the 50m the club paid has been more than worth it). And the way he is treated by fans, why are fans expecting him to put their feelings first (eg moving this summer because they want him to) before his own. He’s not exactly treated great is he?

Hilarious. He's played a massive part in Four Premier League titles, Four Carabao Cups and an FA Cup.

I've no idea how that doesn't qualify as legendary status. He's played as big a part as anyone in our recent success.

So has Zinchenko. And almost every one of our current squad. And legends they all are, to me. Comparable to Sergio Silva and Vince, they are not however.

Sterling has been brilliant for us, and I appreciate his contribution.

Interesting points.

I would like to keep Raz. I think he does a lot of things off the ball some don’t appreciate. I also think he would work well with Haaland.

In terms of replacing anyone with an Academy player it’s difficult to know, even for the people who’s job it is to know.

Astonishingly good players can quickly fade without explanation. Look at the Scottish guy at Chelsea he looked class but has just had a torrid time on loan with Norwich.

All that said my untrained eye thinks if anyone is going to be the next Foden it will be Palmer with McAtee a year behind. I’m not saying he could completely replace a first team player right now but I’m quite confident he will one day and can help us a lot next season. He looks different almost effortless….just pure natural ability. If he continues to learn Cole Palmer will be a regular starter soon enough.

Prem soon come for that lad.

He is fully entitled to run his contract down, but I suspect many fans are looking at it from the point of view of the club and not the individual.

As we are led to believe, he has had a contract extension offer now for some time, but as far as we know, is remaining uncommitted. Therefore, and understandable, fans are looking at the options, one of which being try to offload him this summer and bring in a replacement now.

I think a lot of the criticism and praise for that matter does go too far at times, but I'm sure Sterling is not fazed by anything written on an internet forum.

Did anyone notice that when he was being interviewed at the presentation on Sunday he had what looked like a straw or wire in the side of his mouth and was giving it a good chew. Bit bizarre Raz.

Of course I’m looking at it from a fans perspective. I want what’s best for Manchester City not what’s best for Raheem Sterling’s bank account. If that makes me a **** then so be it.
It doesn't make you a ****. I just don't want to see Sterling (or anyone else in his position) have his reputation amongst fans tarnished because of a personal decision.

It’s not unreasonable for him to not sign a contract if he’s not playing as much as he wants to though. Personally I think he’ll be back to his best once Haaland is in. I mean, look how he’s been playing with England, alongside an actual striker.

and no one knows what he sees on social media/hears in the ground and how that affects him mentally. Maybe he’s just over it. He’s been treated like shit in the media for a long long time.
