That’s a bit harsh on Sterling who is most definitely not a natural striker.
Lacazette has been hugely disappointing since he joined the Arse.
We can do much much better than an ageing disinterested striker to replace Raheem.
If Sterling leaves, which isn't a certainty, then we won't replace him IMO. Whether he goes or doesn't we will buy a striker in the summer and it won't be a Lacazette I can promise you that.

Yes we can,but that wasn't my point, and he would still be a better option for our team right now.

Lacazette is a very good player,he wouldnt be expensive, and he would provide a much needed presence and outlet, you underestimate him

Fair play mate, we’re all entitled to our opinions.
For what it’s worth I don’t think signing an ageing Arsenal failure represents a sensible option for MCFC. It’s not the direction we have been going in.
He is a decent enough player and if we were Watford or Norwich I would agree he may be a good signing for us.….but we are not.

I think we should just accept any offer, renew Mcatee's contract and give him Sterling's recent playing time.
Yeah always selling under their market price. Sterling is 80M. There‘s no many good wingers out there. Mcatee isn‘t even a winger. Why does everyone want central midfielders to replace our wingers?

A couple of years ago I thought that moving him into the middle would be the making of him.

But nope.

Ever since I was a kid I've really wanted a Porsche 911. Just really admire them, you know?

Obviously I can't afford one but was thinking of taking the Barca strategy. Show up to the dealership, tell them how much I want one. Now I can't pay but I'll ask really nicely, and perhaps they'll lease me one and subsidize the monthly cost at their expense? Then in 2 years I'll maybe buy it for 1/4 of the cost or decide I don't want it anymore and give it back to them with a very well written thank you letter.

No ones playing that for him with a year left on his contract.

You'd think not. But then, who'd seriously pay 150 million for Harry Kane?

And if he goes into the January window, doesn't that make it one-and-a-half? it's not very different, but a bit. Could make quite a difference to Barcelona's immediate fortunes this season, if he clicks.
(I don't think we've got the slightest chance of getting that, by the way. I take it that it's a starting point, maybe. In any case, it's only a rumour. Nobody's even said he's going. I would genuinely like nothing more than for him to turn this round and make us all look like chumps. I just don't believe that's going to happen any more).

Hazard had a year and went for 100m

Off the back of a 21 goal / 17 assist season where he was one of the best players in the world.

Completely different cases. We'll be lucky to get Sane money for Sterling.

Last seasons golden boot winner and assist topper. Consistently one of the best strikers in the world over the past 5 seasons. At a PL rival, with a notoriously difficult director. Kane had a massive price tag for a reason.

He didn’t go for 150 million anyway, so that’s besides the point.

Sterling has woefully underperformed for City for 2 seasons and is way down the pecking order. He isn’t an £80m player in current form, let alone with a year left on his contract.

You know what I meant. Don't be this disingenuous and pedantic in the same instance.

Some people especially some City fans on here seem to think and talk about Sterling as though he is not an elite footballer.
If you think he is as elite as his statistics say, then I apologise for my post.
