I think that is an incredibly harsh take. We all know Raz is shite at penalties, I think he’s missed his last 4 for City.

Sometimes it takes more bollocks to admit that you should not be taking one and stand back than demand it when you are not confident.
He's shite at penalties because he lacks the necessaries though.

Said it for ages,he's a bottler on the pitch and he is beginning to stink the place out.

You were saying it when he was one of our best players and scoring 30, assisting 20 a season though, so not really worth paying attention to your 5 year hate campaign against the man.

I love the idea, and i know they are oven ready.

But i still cant get away from the fact we have half a dozen youngsters of our own that i'm sure only need the opportunity and the nurturing.I guess it boils down to us having the room, time, and patience though.

Yep, that's the dilemma, we have Lavia, McAtee (worried on that issue) and Palmer, all who should/could be incorporated into the next first-team evolution.

Gundo, Fern, Mahrez and Sterling are all coming to the end of this cycle, so we will have wiggle room to still add quality from outside.

De Bruyne is hopefully going to perform to a high level until 32/33, but I have my own concerns that his peak might have already come and gone in terms of his physicality.

Completely agree. He’s frustrating and extremely wasteful in front of goal.

If I was to write an ordered list of City/England penalty takers then Raz would be near the bottom every time, I’d pick Stones and Walker ahead of him.

I still think it’s unfair to blame him for the likes of Foden or Saka missing though.

He’s not a shithouse for allowing them to take penalties ahead of him, they are ahead of him based on penalty taking ability and that’s how it should be.

Making shit up again pal......this,and your superiority complex,is what lets you down

Check my posts,i know youre sad enough, from 2017/18 - i thought he was superb and destined for the top.

Swap for a midfielder at Barca maybe?certain Dutch player who has realised the Spanish league isn’t what he thought it was
He'd be a perfect fit right now, a 6 who can cover the 8. The 8's are pretty stacked with the squad and EDS talent (Palmer, McAtee etc). the 6 we are short on when Dinho hangs it up. Lavia isnt getting backup at 18, but in the rotation for cups/dead rubbers for a couple of seasons more.

I'm on exactly the same page with all of that,as i have stated on other threads.

If I remember correctly, last season you wrote a few posts very certain that Pep had decided Rodri was in no way good enough to be the new Fernandinho and was looking to offload him already.

Have you heard anything about him changing his mind? Or are we going to buy another big DM and see Lavia sidelined?

Seems ridiculous Pep would not be all in on Rodri, but it was only a few months ago he dropped him for the CL final.

Ironically, his best one was at Wembley in the penalty shoot-out win against Chelsea.

I was shouting, "fuck, no" when he walked up to take the decisive one, but he top-binned it off the underside of the crossbar.

It looked perfect. He actually lean't back on it, which gave it the elevation, but is usually the issue he has with taking penalties.

It reminded me very much of Richard Edghill's in the penalty shoot-out against Gillingham. Again, I was shouting, "fuck, no" - I thought he had missed but it goes in off the underside of the bar.

Edghill wheels away with his arms, but he wasn't kidding anyone, he'd already shat his pants in relief.

As had I!

Lavia will be good enough in a couple of years, so we need to be mindful that bringing in any top midfielder to rotate with Rodri in a six would push Lavia further down the order and also give him something to think about.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere, as that's how we lost Sancho. He was impatient and knew we wanted to also sign Mahrez was it?

Sancho backed his talent and, unlike Foden, had no loyalty to City, in terms of the waiting game.
