Well looks like something is going on in that regard.
Them preparing for Raz?
That must value De Ligt at around 80-90 million euros, blimey!

Think it’s too late for that, if he was going to sign would have done it some time agoIf he goes it's £60m minimum, especially when you look at the Jesus fee.
Still hoping he signs a new contract though.
Selling Ziyech also it seems. Clearing even more for Raz potentially.

Would make financial sense for him as he’d get a golden handshake of £50 million next year. Our only leverage if he sees out his contract is that he won’t be in Pep’s plan if he stays and may adversely affect his World Cup chances. City May have to get a little hostile as it’s all about the money and not personal.I think it is now only a question whether he leaves this year for a fee or next for free. I think he'll see his contract out myself, but lets see.

Richer than god???Personally, I think he'd jump at the chance to join Chelsea. London life, god money, …..

Football clubs are not comfortable losing players on free transfers. This redic nonsense keeps getting spouted on this forum. The fact he was offered a contract doesn't mean the club are comfortable with them leaving for free, what's the alternative? Clubs no longer offer contracts to players at all? There is zero need to get hostile or try 'push' him out or need any leverage over him. If he chooses to see his contract out, whether it is for a bonus next year, one last trophy hurrah, lack of options or whatever, then the club will be comfortable with that as they were when they offered it, and he has certainly earned the right too. He will leave if he is tempted elsewhere, not because the club would want him out.
Plenty of benefits for us too, him seeing his contract out, if that's what happens.

All players at the end of their careers with no resale value. Sterling is quite different.Yaya, Zabba, Vince, Dave, Serg, Ferna etc beg to differ.

he played to the max of his ability and gave everything on the pitch. asking him to finish like aguero is beyond his skills. we as a fan base have been spoiled by aguero and expecting everyone to finish like him.Signed for £44M+
7 years | 339 Games | 131 Goals | 95 Assists | 12 Club Trophies
Likely will be sold for ~£50M to Chelsea
Successful transfer.
Hope he's remembered fondly by the Blues and the fans regardless of how he ends up leaving the club.
If the roles were reversed and we were the ones interested, the fee would be £70million plus.
i'd be curious to see if he can link with Haaland the way he does with Kane for England. The speed of his creative flicks and one twos might rise to the fore again with a real striker feasting on them.Hate to lose Raz, easily the most unique skillset of the rest of wide players left.
